I started this post on Thursday when it was our regular grocery shopping day. Then the weather turned from rain to at least sort of sunny and I was busy outside puttering .
I think I've mentioned before that when we do our shopping GS M does their family's at the same time.
One thing he looked for this past week was a special pan for making baked doughnuts. A few minutes ago he brought up some samples that he made this morning. He wanted my opinion and I found them quite tasty. Not much like a yeast doughnut, maybe more like a cake one but then I've never liked regular doughnuts so these suit me better.
The bite that was taken was unavoidable because he wanted to know how I liked them That's my story anyway:)
The nicer weather encouraged me to clean the porch and move some plants that had spent the winter there out to the back garden area. That meant organizing the ones that remained. Funny how one thing leads to another and soon you're doing way more than you planned on.
Not much else happening around here. A nice quiet weekend. I hope yours is as well.
Thanks for coming by

I love these illustrations! It is lightly snowing here in Montreal right now! I don't mind, really! The temperatures will gradually rise over the next coming days...I think gradual is better than up, down, up, down, easier on the health. Your blog header is beautiful as well.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are getting some things done and enjoying your time. My weekend is quiet as well, just the way I love it!
LOL I'm pleased you got to try out the baked doughnut, and that Spring Bunny is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
All the best Jan
Such cute illustrations!!
ReplyDeleteI like any kind of donuts!! :)
I love that grocery picture, it kinda sounds like a little ‘grateful’ prayer. And, a quiet weekend is a good weekend, don’t you think? Enjoy!!! Virginia
ReplyDeleteI think those donuts look awesome. A Blessed Holy Week to you.
ReplyDeleteI think Angela (Tracing Rainbows) calls it 'the cascade of tasks' when one simple little job turns into another dozen!
ReplyDeletePuttering around my house and yard is one of my favorite things. (: Love the first illustration. I would make a poor farmer, so I am happy we have grocery stores!
ReplyDeleteI have the baked donut pans and they are good. I can't wait to ge8t to the garden but there is still snow on 5he ground.
ReplyDeleteCathy
Soon we'll be out in the garden, getting things ready for planting!
ReplyDeleteThe grocery store meme is something to remember these days even as prices continue to rise and rise. We have plenty of food on the store shelves.
ReplyDeleteThe baked donuts look good.
I do love gardening and puttering around my house.
Nice, quiet weekends are the best :)
ReplyDeleteThose doughnuts look so good. Glad the weather was nice enough for you to get outside.
ReplyDeleteGrandma, a great idea so that those who cannot eat fried foods can treat themselves.
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered if those baked doughnuts are any good!
ReplyDeleteFine good weather you have!
ReplyDeleteIt's great, when you can do at last more on one day than you had planned
That first graphic is so true. And it's something I think I take for granted.
ReplyDeleteThe doughnuts look delicious. I bought one of those pans, but my husband was used to raised doughnuts so he wasn't as pleased with baked ones as I was. 🙂 and I know what you mean how one thing leads to another.
How lovely post!
