After the Storm
We survived the storm and only had around four hours with no power while many others in town had none for 11 hours and apparently some still don't. On my morning walk I took a few pics of the littered park with some smaller trees actually uprooted.
The ground was full of these strange clumps of what looked like Mountain Ash berries but all stuck together. I am sorry to have to admit I have no idea what tree they came from. There are many Mountain Ash in the park but they still had their lovely bunches of berries. Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks for popping by. Granny Marigold

So glad you are ok and were only 4 hours without power. I have no ide what those berries are! Take care.
ReplyDeleteGlad you came through unscathed. Those berries look blighted, to me. Hmm...
ReplyDeleteWow! That was some storm. I keep seeing photos of all the blown branches.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping you have a calmer week.
Wow! So glad you escaped relatively unscathed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a day Saturday was! I was at the farmers market, and it got to be terrifying. Trying to hold tents down, even though all the legs were fastened to something sturdy. Wanting to take the tents down, but not able to let go of them or unfasten them to do that. Eventually got people to each hold a corner, while my sister held on to the other tent. Got them both down. My aprons rack fell over and aprons were blowing down the road. One jar of jam blew off, but my booth was relatively unscathed compared to the pottery vendor who had their whole display crash over. Our power was off for 28 hours, was on for 3, went off again for a couple of hours, and is hopefully back on for good now.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty awful! To say it was terrifying ... I can well imagine. Do you have a generator on the farm? Sure hope so if your power was out that long. I'm counting on this storm to have taken down all the trees that would normally come down in winter so we won't have a repeat event in January.
DeleteI heard it was windy out there, glad you are okay. No idea what those berries are:(
