Ice
I think this morning I need to post a picture of my dainty Daffodils before I tell you that we are currently experiencing freezing rain. 40,000 are without power in BC at this time and DH went to start our generator to make sure it is in working order in case we are next.
All this snow is now encased in a layer of ice. My huge old Lilac as well as other shrubs are weighted down and I am hoping they won't break!
Here, in a photo taken a few days ago, my DIL and the little guy are stomping through the snow to visit the pigeon ( who is weathering the winter just fine in her cozy cage).
Enough about the weather. I have begun to decorate a bit for Valentine's Day. I got out my old Valentines and also tried my hand at making a tiny banner for the Teddy Bear corner.
That's it for today. I'm staying put... getting lots of reading done.
Thanks for poppping by,
Granny Marigold

Those daffodils are just lovely! And I really like all the plants you have going in that room. What a nice spot!
ReplyDelete(and I know you hate snow, but wow----pretty scene out there!)
Stay warm
Actually, I don't hate snow. For the first week I'm enchanted by it but then I want it gone!!
DeleteThe bunting looks cheerful! Stay warm, GM!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, with the weather you have been having it probably is best to concentrate on pleasanter things!
ReplyDeleteYour Teddy Bear Corner looks very sweet.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Oh, best of luck, with the ice storm!
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have a generator, for such weather. But hope you don't have to use it.
We just have lots of snow, although not anywhere as much, as they are getting, farther east, on the Atlantic Coast. There, it is a real Nor'easter!
Happy that we are not that far east. And can just enjoy the coziness, of almost being snow-bound. :-)
What a precious corner of Valentine Love, you have made. Just precious.
Heep warm and safe, wishes,
Luna Crone
Your daffodils are a lovely shot of Spring! We lost our power for about 5 hours today. It's back on now, thank goodness. At least we don't have to worry about heat, between the wood stove and gas fireplace. Looking forward to the warmer weather predicted. The ice has started to fall off the trees, but there was an awful lot of snapping and crashing earlier in the neighbourhood.
ReplyDelete.
Stay warm! We are warming up this weekend!! :)
ReplyDeleteIce is the worst. We warmed up today and the heavy rain and mid 50's temps are washing away the snow. We are looking forward to some "normal" weather.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of snow and ice, hopefully you won't lose power. Stay warm and safe. Love the Teddy Bear corner.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are managto stay warm. We are due to have snow here in the next 24 hours but nowhere near what you are having. Take care x
ReplyDeletebrrrr...that's looks cold!! Living in Texas I don't see weather like that. Your daffodil is gorgeous, it looks so springy among all the snow outside. Enjoyed your valentines and the little tea party!!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous valentines! You have so much beautiful greenery in your home. We've been having that ice/snow mix here, but now it's melting. You stay warm and safe along with that good man of yours, and your whole family. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! All that ice and snow! Sure makes your dainty daffodils even more bright and pretty. The teddy bear corner is so cute and I love the little banner. I keep saying that I am going to try making a banner. I love the little tea set. Hope you don't lose power!
ReplyDeleteYour daffodils aree so cheery and the doily underneath so pretty! Stay safe in that ice and snow. It has been cold here but not a lot of snow so far. I keep forgetting to get my Valentine table runners out! Nancy
ReplyDeleteThat is a great picture of your people stomping through the snow. Scenery-only pics can be gorgeous but just add some human figures like that and it makes me pay attention and I get drawn in...
ReplyDeleteYou have made your indoor space very cozy and comfy!
Hope all is still well, on Sunday Feb. 12...
