I was informed by my 7 tear old grandson that it was pie day. He wasn't too sure, he said, of why it was, but his mom was making pie and he was pretty happy about that. Took me a minute to realize what in the world the 14th of March had to do with pie. Then the light went on and I realized, like you probably already knew, that 3.14 ( March 14) is Pi ( pie) hence pi day. What kind will you choose? These lovely pics are of course off the internet. Mine will not look nearly as good.
Luckily I have frozen disks of pie dough in the freezer and if I'm careful I can defrost one in the microwave and get a cherry pie in the oven before too long.
Thanks for visiting. I'm off now to make a pie.

All this talk of pie is making me hungry, but, sadly, no pie for me.
ReplyDeleteWe had pie today too!
ReplyDeleteI had pie earlier in the week...cherry! Just one slice and it was wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteI never got around to making a pie today! I imagine yours was very good.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
The kids at school used to bring all kinds of goodies for Pi Day. Isn't it sad that pie isn't quite the treat it used to be?
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. I've never heard of pi day. Cherry pie has always been my favorite and my Mother could make a perfect one. Sometimes she would put coconut in the cherry pie and that was delicious! She used to call me on the phone and say, if you will come and spend the weekend, I will make you a cherry pie. :)
ReplyDeleteI love his thinking!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePIE is better than just PI, any day!!!!!!!!
:-))))
I love apple pie...so that's what I would probably bake!!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Pi day but was just thinking I should make my hubby a raspberry pie! Will you share your recipe for frozen pie dough and how to do it? Nancy
ReplyDeletei am sure that your pie may not look perfect but is delicious enough for sure to make your grandson happy
