Blustery Day
We have had a day of strong gusty wind. When we went walking this morning the air was full of leaves and heaps of dry leaves were blowing around our feet. Quite exhilarating!
After lunch I planted another ten tulip/ daffodil bulbs that I keep seeing in Superstore marked down to .79 . I wish they'd put that price on the display because it was by coincidence that I discovered that they were marked down. I know others would snap them up if only they knew. I should have some nice clumps of colour next Spring.
Isn't it amazing that October is almost over? Next weekend will bring the time change back to Standard Time. No one seems fond of that change and yet we continue to have it.I know that within a week we'll be used to the change but to me it seems unnecessary.
Have a wonderful last-Monday-in-October!!
As always,
Granny Marigold

I have always loved that poem.
ReplyDeleteI think, but I'm not sure, that I want us to just go back to standard time and stay there. The time zones were set by solar time, when in mid zone, the sun is overhead at noon. It's sundial time. So be it.
I have been planting bulbs here and there I am hoping to have a few bright spots next year. Loved the poem.
ReplyDeleteHi Granny Marigold, we are having quite a blustery day here today.
ReplyDeleteI must have a peek at our Superstore and see if they have any discounted bulbs. You got a great deal!
Oooo - I like your pictures in this post!! I also can't believe that October is nearly over. It, or November, is my favorite month. Hard to choose! Stay warm up there, and enjoy those leaves.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the time change ... so good to plan ahead in the garden 😊 blustery day here this morning ... enjoy your day ...
ReplyDeleteLovely illustrations!
ReplyDeleteYou too, a blustery day!
Oh is time change next weekend? I think in Europe, some place, it was this weekend.
Actually I like this one! It goes back to Nature's Time!!!!!!
HAPPY HAUNTING!

I can't believe how quickly October has gone past - it is quite scary!
ReplyDeleteI love the poem and the beautiful pictures.
I am sure come springtime you garden is going to look a delight with the bulbs you are planting.
I just love your pictures and the little poem. At first glance, I thought it was Winnie the Pooh, and the blustery day. We have had winds and chilly weather today and lots of rain yesterday. I can't believe November is almost here.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. I have planted bulbs many times over the years but only a few of them come up so I gave up. I always had visions of glorious spring color but it never happened. :-(
ReplyDeleteHi there, just found your blog, and happy to be here :) We just planted quite a few bulbs a couple of weekends ago in hopes of happy springtime flowers too! The winds are blowing all the leaves off the trees, just in time for the snow to fly, it seems. Love the poems you shared :) Happy to meet you today!
ReplyDeleteI like your new header...I love old barns. Your pictures are so pretty. I dnjoyed them all. We have been having a lot of wind lately also. Winter is coming! I'm like you...I think "time change" is unnecesary.
ReplyDeleteI like the poem, I have never read that before, The pictures certainly remind of fall. Blustery winds and leaves blowing about like we had yesterday! I forgot to replace my spring bulbs. I dug up my entire flower bed this year, I had an invasive plant and it was smothering everything else. The plant was "Snow On The Mountain". Come spring I will have a sad looking flower bed(sigh). Thank you for the comment on my blog. Yes, I live on the east coast. A small town on the Bay of Fundy. I wanted to add you to my blog list as well but I can't figure out how.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo with the blowing leaves is incredible and so artistic! Glad you reminded me of the time change. I probably would have forgotten. ;)
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
The perfect fall post!! Thank you for those windy images!
