I found a few more items at the thrift store. These were all half price items and super cheap.
This heavy duty apron made of denim pockets is the perfect apron for my older grandson who isn't afraid of working in the kitchen. In the picture the apron looks like it gets smaller toward the bottom. The chair is curved and it makes the apron look strange. I do wish I took better photos!
This unusual item looks brand new. Hanging it over the arm of my favourite chair will keep my side table much neater.
As you can see it has pockets on both sides.
I use my reusable shopping bags whenever I go shopping. I have quite a few smaller ones but this one should hold a LOT. The purple/brownish parts are mesh, the rest is needlepoint. (?).
I can always use another pretty pot to hold a 4" nursery pot.
Last of all is this oversized mug that I'll put a plant into and keep on the porch. Can you see the rooster and hen?
Thanks for letting me share my little treasures. DH is a very patient man but doesn't find my little treasures terribly interesting so I share them here.
Thanks for popping by, G.M.
I really like the rooster and hen cup. And the little caddy for your recliner is a neat idea! Always happy to see your treasures! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you shared your treasure with us. They are all things I, too, would choose. I especially like that cute pot and the tote bag.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
You found some nice treasures.
ReplyDeleteGreat tote bag.
I love finding treasures at thrift shops. Your denim apron has inspired me to make one for my grandson. He's a very good cook and would love a denim apron. I also like the shopping bag. I carry reusable shopping bags with me everyplace I go. Yours is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHi Granny J, I'm happy my thrifty find inspired you to sew an apron for your GS. I went to see if you had a blog but unfortunately you don't. Maybe one day soon?
DeleteYour treasures are all quite interesting. Makes me think I don't dare go thrift store shopping. I just need to take stuff there.
ReplyDeleteI saw the rooster and hen first thing!!!! You just reminded me that I have been wanting to make a thing like that for my chair. I call my chair my nest! I could sure use those pockets... I love seeing what you pick up at thrift shops.
ReplyDeleteVery cool treasures you found Granny! Always fun to see what other pick up at the thrift stores. I'd say you did good!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly found some lovely little treasures, and all useful as well (a real bonus in my book!).
ReplyDeleteThat apron looks like a great gardening apron!
ReplyDeleteYou find the neatest things at the thrift store! Lots of pockets! That little apron would be easy to make. Maybe I need to start collecting pockets and make a few. Bet they would sell at craft shows. Going now to look at your Tuesday's Teddy bears.
ReplyDeleteThose are all very fun finds! I've seen the "over the arm of the chair" fabric holder before -- I've also seen them made so that they tuck in between the box springs and the mattress, so that they hang down the side of the bed, and let you put a book, pen, glasses, etc. right there hanging on the side of the bed, which would be handy. I might need to make some of those :) Thanks for sharing your finds!
ReplyDeleteThese cheep second-hand-treasures are fine! I like the colours and ideas! It's good to share women-hobbies with friends and not to be angry, when the partner is not so interested. I know this and go a good way like this :)
ReplyDeleteThe cup is special sweet!
I love to see your treasures. What a great haul, love the apron.
ReplyDeleteOh that mesh bag is a keeper for sure! You find the neatest stuff:)
ReplyDeleteWhen I get some stuff, instead of being excited, his first words are, "where will you put that?' Funny thing, I always find a place for it or them. haha I like your great finds! Love your plant room, too! Also, I put the Amaryllis outside in full sun in the summer. Fertilize them about every week with Miracle Grow. This is when they make their flowers in the bulb... Try it this way!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit!
The apron is perfect for a young boy! You found many treasures. The "hanging pocket" is very smart. I sewed one like that long time ago. It doesn't fit to the furniture we have now, so it is stored somewhere. I also loved the shopping bag.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Granny Marigold! Ahh....Sun is out and no rain today here!
