I was so glad to change the calendar page that I did it a day early. Sheila came by and when she noticed she warned me that to do so would bring bad luck. *smile* But today it is officially the first and I'm looking forward to Spring. We had such an unusually sunny and dry January but this morning we woke up to a light dusting of snow!!
Later.... Now it is snowing heavily and starting to accumulate.
I saw this arrangement of a tiny succulent in a pretty tea cup and I thought I'd try that with a small herb plant( once I find one). It would look fine on the kitchen windowsill.
Then there's this lovely display.
or this.....
Thoughts of Spring and growing things!!Have a pleasant week-end.
Thanks for visiting.
Happy February! I was tempted to turn my calendar over early but resisted!
ReplyDeleteWe have had snow flurries, but nothing lingering. Now that February is here we are in for some actual winter. Sweet dreams of spring to you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful teacups!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty teacups for growing things. Snow here this morning that has mostly melted, but there is more on the way. Happy February!
ReplyDeleteHappy February to you too! I had a great birthday and did nothing all day long except visit on the phone with loved ones near and far. My back prevented us for going out for our planned dinner date, but we ordered pizza and Dennis picked it up. It was lovely. Nice and cozy at home. No snow here and it's supposed to be 60F here tomorrow! That's crazy for the beginning of February. After that it's going to cool into the 30's all next week which is much more normal.
ReplyDeleteTake care my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy
Happy February!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a succulent in a cup,
I'll try that too and if it works I'll take a photo!!
Happy Sunday !
When I had to do flower arrangements for church coffee mornings, I'd go to the garden centre and by a couple of trays of small plants and pop them into teacups on each table. Job done!
ReplyDeleteLovely little plant arrangement, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteCome on Spring. Ohio's Buckeye Chuck predicts an early spring, but Pennyslvania's Phil says a longer winter.........so who knows. Love the pretty tea cups, but wonder how well would plants do since there would be no drainage hole?
ReplyDeleteOh I love the herbs in the tea cups. What a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI did not turn it early but so glad to turn to February. We have had snow and very cold weather.
ReplyDeleteThe teacup is cute
Cathy
Happy February, dear Granny Marigold! The cups with the plants look very nice. The light is clear and strong now here in the Bavarian Forest, it is cold in the night and nice sunny during the days . There is an old quote: "If Candlemas - 2nd February - is light and clear, it will be a long winter.
ReplyDeleteSpring and growing things - yes! We are getting lots of showers, and that should promote the springing up of many flowers -- and weeds!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good idea to put small plants in a tea cup! Very decorative.
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty things can happen with a teacup!! Our weather was so spring-like yesterday that we sat on the porch a while. Hope you have a great new week.
ReplyDeleteNo calendar here, but yes it is nice to see February! The plants in teacups are pretty. I did this a few years ago with succulents and sold them in my booth. They went fast. Since succulents need so little water there is no worry about overwatering. But they would have to be transplanted within a couple months. I also did not use good teacups, just the made in China stuff or very inexpensive ones. Even the plainest ones looked pretty with a plant.
ReplyDeleteHappy February.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I was also glad to move into a new month!
