Pies and Nesting Material

Did you see the lunar eclipse last night?  The clouds that had been hanging around had fled and we were able to see the moon very clearly. I didn't stay to see it completely covered. It was way past my bedtime :)

Pies for PI day. Two apple and a cherry.

I tried winding short pieces of string and rafia around a large pinecone. I hope birds will find them and use them in building their nests.  I hung it under the bird feeder so it is in an obvious spot (that I can watch while I sit in the sunroom with my coffee).

Thank you for all the comments on dryer balls. It seems that those who use them think they are effective in shortening dryer time. I'm going to use the dryer sheets that I have and then change to dryer balls. It's not that I think the dryer sheets are toxic...I just feel they're a waste of money.
Once, years ago, I bought some of those rubbery balls with 'spikes' at a garage sale but silly me...I thought they were dog toys and used them accordingly.LOL

Thanks for visiting

  5. I missed the eclipse, it was past my bedtime, too. Your pies look delicious. I didn't have time to bake yesterday but I'm making a cranberry apple crumb pie today.

  6. Like you, we did not stay up to watch the last of the eclipse totality.
I stopped using anything in the dryer a long time ago. Don't need them.

  7. The eclipse was not visible from here so I did not see it. And I didn't know about the PI- day, so I missed that too :) Your pies looks delicious as always!

  16. I am behind again on reading blogs, so catching up with you now! I don't use anything in my dryer , just throw the clothes in. But I have a gas dryer, and I noticed a big difference in how clothes dried when we switched to this one. The clothes seem to not get all statick-y.
