January 1

The first day of the new year has come and now is almost gone. Only 365 more to go ( yes, this is going to be a leap year).
Do you make resolutions?  I just recycle mine from year to year because I never really achieve them anyway.  Apparently one in three people make resolutions. While 75% keep those resolutions for a week, less than half are still trying 6 months later.
I think eating healthy and maybe losing some weight would rank right up on a lot of people's lists.
Regular exercise, spending less, being a kinder person......

Whether you make resolutions or not I hope you are off to a positive start to the year. Have a lovely weekend!

  1. I don't make resolutions, but I do have some goals: lose weight, of course, keep up the regular exercise, have my hearing and vision checked and take necessary steps, finish editing my memoir, and sort, edit and cull the thousands of photos I have stored on the hard drive, then back up the keepers. Some of these are not new, of course. :-)

  2. Happy New Year! I recycle resolutions too... every year I vow to lose weight. I've been carrying that one over from year to year for about 30 years now!!

  4. I know the minute I make it a resolution it's all over. So, I just keep a mental list of things I'd like to accomplish. Decluttering, going through the old photos and making albums for each child (the remainder of photos can live in the plastic tote!), simplifying everything, doing some art, journaling some words of wisdom for my kids. I think I'm at that time of life when I know the end is nearer than the beginning and I don't want to leave a big pile of clutter behind for the kids to deal with, lol! I'll need a lot of years to complete the task, ahem. May you have a year full of good things!

  5. I love your header with the little Blue Birds. It looks old fashioned. Busy with company, I didn't even think about resolutions. Of course, they would have been the same as last year's...eat healthy and lose ten pounds. One of these years I'm going to get that done!

  8. In answer to your question on my blog: I do use my iPhone now when walking, with an app called MapMyWalk. Before that I used a pedometer, and I found that the GPS app and the pedometer were pretty close in registering distance.

  9. If I made any resolutions, it would be to try and declutter, and keep up with the eating habits that I started this past year. Happy New Year to you and your family!
