Snow, Books, and Cleaning up

Let me say right away that I am very frustrated by my computer today. I took pictures but it has hidden them somewhere and I can't find them.  So... this post will obviously not have pertinent pics.  I thought a lovely bunch of Pansies would be a cheery thing to look at.
I have been busy cleaning up. We took a load of things to the thrift store after lunch. While I was there I took a quick look at the books that were marked down. For $!.25 I got 3 promising-looking books:  HEART STEPS , Prayers and Declarations for a Creative Life  by Julia Cameron,  LIVING in PROCESS, Basic Truths for living the path of the Soul by Anne Wilson Schaef ,  and lastly THE COMFORT QUEEN'S GUIDE to LIFE by Jennifer Louden
.A picture certainly would have been easier than typing that out ( I am very much a peek and peck sort of typer, typist??)
As for the snow, we got a light covering.... enough to thrill the littlest grand and make going back to school after the Christmas break a bit easier. He was NOT looking forward to it.

So I continue to tidy up and organize my house. I think my word for 2016 might be SIMPLICITY.
Now MY idea of simple obviously won't be anyone else's but I'm going to try to have less "stuff" which makes me think garage sales won't be nearly as much fun this year. *sad*

Hope you are having an awesome day!       Granny Marigold

  1. It is hard to live a simple life and maintain a simple life! Stuff keeps crowding in! Nancy

  2. I've had trouble with pictures lately too. Poppy and I plan to have a big yard sale this year...soon. We have simply got to get rid of some junk. I am almost finished reading "At Home In Mitford".

  3. I think we all have way too much stuff. Way to go, thinking about thinning it out.
    Are you feeling better?

    1. Although the headaches are not nearly as bad, they have not gone away. But I am so much better off that I am not complaining.

  4. We spent the day packing up ALL of the Christmas stuff. Big job.Tomorrow we clean house and put things back where they go. As I do that I will be thing about how much stuff we have, and how we really need to stop collecting. But then what fun would antiquing be?

  5. Oh I know! Guess I'll have to be very sure to get rid of MORE than I bring home.

  6. Hi Granny, I know what you are going through when you save a picture and then cannot find it . . . that happens to me all the time. I wonder where they go and who is seeing them. Well, at least they are good clean pictures and probably boring to most folks. This vintage print of the violets is lovely. Don't rule out garage sales they are just too much fun. Here's hoping that you are having a loving new year so far and that in continues to be grand. Keep Smiling! Connie :)

  7. You can still garage sale and thrift store shop. As one 'new' thing comes in, another goes out. Ha ha, yeah, good luck with that one!
I know, here too, various pictures seem to end up in different spots on the computer. I think, maybe, that I have them all figured out now. But it is definitely a pain....
