A Birthday

I have two grandsons and today the older one turned 18. Here he is with his sweet Mom. They came for a pizza supper and we had cake but the only candle that could be found was a Scooby Doo candle.

Not much is happening around here. The weather continues to be lovely and I sit outside a lot. Any gardening is still a bit hard to do because I'm stiff and sore but each day I feel a bit better.
I've begun the job of taking down and washing  all my tea cups that are not behind closed cupboard doors. It's a big job. When I say taking down I mean someone else takes them down and later puts them back. I'm no longer trusted on chairs ( I wonder why not?)

What is keeping you busy these days?  It's always nice to know what others are up to.

Thanks for visiting,

  4. Happy Birthday to your handsome grandson.
Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better and staying off the chairs :). It sounds like you are still being very productive.
I'm busy trying to prepare for a little family surprise for my husband's 60th birthday tomorrow. The hardest part is keeping my mouth shut when I'm with him.

  5. Aw! He looks like a very nice young man, GM! The Scooby Do candle is adorable! I hope your day is good and that you sit still and place warm rice bags on the achey parts. Tea. Definitely use one of those clean teacups for a few cuppas!

  6. Ladders and climbing on chairs once was nothing, but as the years pass they become dangerous activities. When my mother-in-law was my age she climbed on the side of the bathtub to reach and kill a spider, fell and broke her hip. Monday I cleaned under the bed and went through the storage containers that I had under there and then Tuesday I cleaned the well-house. It is amazing how much we can store and forget about. Our grandson looks very please with his Scooby Doo candle . . . I think it is probably very nostalgic of his childhood. Very appropriate too . . . 18 is the passage from childhood to adulthood :)
    Have a lovely weekend.

    Connie :)
