Teacup Tuesday
A little different Teacup Tuesday this week because the teacups I'm showing were in a shop my DH and I visited last Thursday. Because it was my birthday we spent a good part of the day gallivanting about. Nothing useful was accomplished but we had a lovely day. I was appalled at the prices that the teacups were marked at. I'd say $45 was about the average price. I saw many that I admired but didn't buy any. I'm more a thrift store shopped and $5 or less is what I prefer to pay.
The last 2 photos have the cups I most admired. I even spotted a couple that I already have.
Thanks for coming by.

So many pretty tea cups. Do you ever buy one and get home and realize you already have one like it? :)
ReplyDeleteHasn't happened so far but I have bought 2 of a kind on purpose and display them together.
DeleteAwhile back, my granddaughters and I had some fun with tea parties in my garden shanty. I came up with the idea to buy each of them a fancy teacup as a gift after one of the parties. But, when I went shopping and saw the prices on the really pretty cups, we just went back to our plain old cups and probably had just as much fun. I love your teacup collection! And, happy birthday...a little late!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
DeleteSo glad you had a fun day for your special day! The cups are beautifully displayed, but I have to agree that the prices were quite high. I'm a thrift store, yard sale shopper myself!
ReplyDeleteBelated birthday wishes to you! That sounds like a perfect day for a birthday.
ReplyDeleteThe teacups are beautiful, but not THAT beautiful! Can you imagine if you dropped one after paying that price? I would hate dropping one just because it was beautiful...but cannot imagine the double whammy of losing the beauty at that price.
So true!!
DeleteI think your way of collecting is best. It's like treasure hunting, going to thrift stores.
ReplyDeleteYou have such pretty dishes and tea cups. Wish I had more room. I love pretty dishes. Nancy
ReplyDeleteMany happy returns of your special day. What a nice way to spend it. Thursday was also my birthday. I'm always amazed at how many people I meet that I share it with.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa. And a belated happy birthday to you too!!
DeletePretty, but as you say, expensive! Better to hunt through charity shops I think.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an enjoyable birthday with your hubby. Yes, those cups are a little spendy for my blood! :)
ReplyDeleteA belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, Granny!
ReplyDeleteI guess those Bunnykins dishes really keep their value. I have wanted to buy some from time to time, but never can quite justify it. My eldest was given a set of three baby dishes at birth and I'm sure she still treasures them; I wonder if they were quite as dear back then...
oh happy (belated) birthday to you...happy (belated) birthday to you!!! ... I think thrift shopping for dishes is the way to go! So much fun, you never know what you are going to find and the price is right!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! It's nice to enjoy with the eyes and not have to take any home :)
