I have 2 grandsons, M turned 10 this summer and Callum, my other GS, turns 21 today. Just like my 3 sons, Callum also towers over me. They grow, I seem to shrink.

ReplyDeleteI seem to remember a phone on the little phone table in a long ago diningroom, with wires that hooked to it from the wall. Yes, truly amazing we have lived to tell about it! Haha!

Thank you Granny Marigold for stopping by to wish me a happy birthday. That was very special. Oh, I know what you mean about grandsons growing and us shrinking. It's amazing, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteWe had the same phone and on a 3 party system to boot..I live in Washington state in this county we were the last to have the 3 party system..We have a landline and use it sparingly at that..I have to go shopping, medical appointments, etc. everyone is attached to cell phone and I mean attached..Most high school kids cannot write a simple sentence I know this by living next to a public high school..they seem to get their hands on marijuana and vaping stuff though..I always ask them what type of jobs do they think they will get with no high school diploma and no ability to write a simple sentence you would not believe what they say, I cannot write that at all..Your grandson looks fabulous and you look happy, congrats to him..Just had to say something as I had to send that phone back and I remember the company provided a bag, postage etc..We got a phone alright but I miss my rotary dial yellow wall phone..just saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteHaha - love that meme! I'm always a little bemused at younger moms these days who are terrified of sending their teens out into the world for even one day, without a cell phone. Really? We survived fine in a very turbulent world with no phones at all!

ReplyDeleteI have so been thinking, and even talking to Roger about all the stuff Lorelei will never have a memory of. Hey, we used to live even without having a phone with us 24/7! Though it really is nice to have one now with us getting older. Your M is the same age as our Lorelei...I don't know about M but Lorelei will never have know what it was like before computers, and text messaging, and netflix and all of that.
