Christmas Eve Walk

Clear skies, no wind, and below freezing temperatures made for a perfect morning walk ( with extra caution for the slippery spots).  Can you see the Eagle up on the very top of this tree?

There's a thin layer of ice on the lake. Every year some are bound to venture on it before it really is thick enough to hold a person.

As we came around the lake we saw the other Eagle .

On the walk home we passed by this apple tree that no one cares for. I thought the apples in the snow looked pretty.

Merry Christmas to all my virtual friends.  May you have a happy and healthy Christmas.

  3. Merry, Merry Christmas to you and yours! I do miss the eagles at the lake. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy a walk in the sunshine. The sun does make it feel less cold doesn't it?
    Take care my dear friend.
    Blessings and love,

  8. Love the Bald Eagles! When I lived on Whidbey Island, we saw them daily, and I never got used to it or failed to marvel at them. It was also amazing to see the eagles and the huge owls being "mobbed" by the smaller birds!

  11. A belated MerrY Christmas to you too. We had had some lovely hoar frost form overnight this particular morning, so with the sunshine it was extra pretty.

  12. Ha ha. We play that Whose Lane Is It Anyway game here, too! I see the eagle! We had one swoop right over our car the yesterday. Seeing them never gets old! Unfortunately, many people don't use a lot of wisdom when it comes to going out on icy lakes. Here there seems to be a fever to see who can get their ice fishing shelter out there first. Some of them make headlines. Yikes. Have a great year! (I'd love to care for that apple tree, but I wouldn't know how, lol.)

  13. What a beautiful walk around the lake! How wonderful to be able to see the eagles up close as you walk! Our Christmas Day was very mild as well, and ended with a light snowfall that came in overnight, and made everything pretty. Today we are getting quite a bit of snow here. I walked this morning in it, and it was so beautiful. Many blessings to you and may the New Year be especially blessed for you!

  15. I'm wondering what that pretty fruit is, hanging on that tree in the last photo? It's so nice that you have a nice walking lane to use, even in winter. Merry Christmas, Mary Jane!
