This and That

I'm still not able to get my pictures from my camera to my computer without help but for now it seems that it's the way it is. I did manage some pictures of the Peonies I brought in and some of the pictures I took around the yard.

The lavender is looking good....

In the back yard the Mock Orange is just starting to open.  I can't remember the name of the big Hosta that's just in front of it.

After several very hot days we're enjoying more reasonable temperatures with some clouds and an occasional shower.  Yesterday I tidied up my garden shed. Packed up 2 big boxes of pots I'll never use and other things to donate.  With the cooler weather I'm more inclined to do housework and baking.

So that's what is keeping me occupied. What are you busy doing these lovely June days?

Thanks for taking the time to visit and maybe leaving a comment :)

  1. Your garden is looking beautiful. The roses and lavender with foxgloves is a great combination. That is one giant hosta! I'm hoping for some warmer days after this cooler week.

  3. Your landscaping is looking lovely! I love all of the blooms and the mock orange is just incredible. We called it a different name I think, trying to dredge it up from memory, all I can recall is "Farmer's." Such a sweet scent. Your hostas remind me that while I am very greedy for blooms, the plants grown for foliage are really important in a garden, too. You were kind ot donate those pots and things for other gardeners. I am also trying to clean up, and trimmed back a pomegranate although it isn't really the right time for that. But it suddenly just went crazy growing. Now to get all the branches into the compost ring! BTW, I take photos with my camera, upload them to my Google Photos account (free with your Google gmail or other Google account you have or you can make one), then download them into Picture, folders or sometimes just onto the desktop. I don't know if that would work for you.

    1. Thank you for your kind words but I confess that I have no talent for crochet or knit or sewing. I do however have a talent for shopping at thrift stores and finding lovely thing I can't make myself.

  6. Your mock orange looks beautiful! Our weather has been so incredibly hot this week (around 38 or 39 for days) and now the storms have battered my mock orange as well as my large spirea. I would love if they looked like yours!! Is that hosta called either a "big daddy" or "blue angel"? Chris

    1. Sorry but I cannot remember what that Hosta was called. Neither of the names you suggest rings a bell.

  7. Your mock orange is glorious already. Mine was just starting to bloom when I left California, and I wonder if it will be all done before I get home...

  8. I sure think those peonies are beautiful and so is the sweet pitcher and bouquet. I really do miss my lavender that I had to leave at the house in Spokane. Dennis was going to try to buy me some when he went back but I don't think he has had time. I may try to get to the lavender farm when I'm there this week and buy a small pot. It would be nice to have a bit of "home" here in Omaha.
    Take care my dear friend.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  9. Your peonies are gorgeous. I feel a pang of nostalgia when I see them for they remind me of my mother's beautiful ones. Today has been another rainy day here. June has turned out to be a rainy month thus far. The flowers are loving it.

  10. I love all the pictures of your beautiful flowers and plants. It is very hot here right now...strange weather for spring! I fell and broke my wrist 2 days ago, so I will be pretty quiet for 8 weeks except for one-finger typing.

  11. Diane, I am so sorry that you fell and broke your wrist. I hope it heals quickly and that in the meanwhile you're not in too much discomfort.

  12. Your peonies are beautiful. I have a friend in the South Island who grows lots of them, but here, where we live, is too warm for them to grow well. The crochet mats are very pretty :)

  13. Lovely peopnies! I'm still waiting for mine to open, but the buds are there. Your lavender and roses look so beautiful together, do you know which rose it is?

  14. Hi G.M...I like your Flower displays and your Garden- great to see you enjoying the Summer. We are in Winter now with snow further to the south and north of us- getting very cold at night now. Regards. KEV. (Sydney-Australia).

  15. Your flowers are so pretty GM. I wish I had more flowers that all bloomed at the same time! LOL! But, hey, I am just proud I have some to enjoy along and along. I hope that your week is wonderful to you dear lady. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  16. We've been in the upper 90's this week! I've mainly been sitting in front of a fan drinking iced tea! I was noticing yesterday that all of our oak trees seem to be diseased. So sad! I wonder if it's just on our property. I'll have to be more observant. I think things are slowly getting cooler. Meanwhile, I'm doing my "work" in the cooler early hours. Can't complain though. I wanted warmer weather all winter, lol!

  17. Everything in your garden is so beautiful.
I use bluetooth to load my pictures from camera to computer. If you are able to do it that way it is super easy!!

  20. Your yard is gorgeous as usual! Wow, that hosta is gigantic! My hostas seem to be the salad of the month for the deer that keep coming by. Our very hot weather has made it seem like we are much further into summer than we really are. The plants have suffered from our 38 and 39 degree temps. My peonies haven't begun to open yet, hopefully the deer leave them alone!
