A Different Day

It's a different day here. First of all the weather.  Our drought is definitely past and we're in for a day of heavy rain and strong winds.  Secondly, DH flew to spend a week with his family in Manitoba. I have lots of plans what I'm going to accomplish. It remains to be seen if indeed I'll do them. At least I won't be tempted to go putter outside because clouds and showers are in the forecast even after today's rain.

Something unusual yesterday. We were on our way home from Walmart and 3 deer ran out of a yard right onto the busy street. Fortunately none was hit but it's not often we see deer right in the city.

Thanks for coming by. Hope your day is a good one.

  3. Here too with the Deer. They run with abandon across the roads with their babies. We have alot of deer here and we live in a city not a rural area. Love them babies with the spots.....

  4. We have light rain here today but heavy rain is forecast for tonight. I'm also fine with being limited to being inside today, although we do have a granddaughter's soccer match to attend at 5:00. We should have a break in the rain then. If not, I have a very big umbrella. :-)

It's been a long while since I've seen deer (at our parks)...lucky you.

  6. How wonderful that the drought is over for you. We are still hoping and praying for rain. Our weather guy almost promised some for next week. Just remember when the cat is away the mice will play. Enjoy your playtime! 😉

  7. What a nice cup :-))) Coffee and a nice little piece of cake ... that's wonderful.
It's good the drought is over. We had a rather gray and wet summer and we have just returned from vacation - what do you say :-) two weeks of clear blue skies... It felt so good :-))
Today I baked apple pie. Many greetings to you. I have it especially nice on the weekend. Also for you.

  8. I just LOVE teacup #4. Reminds me of a fine cottage garden. I hope you stay snug inside and get a lot done during your time without your hubby! It's funny but I can get so much more done when mine is out of the house. I am so glad those deer did not get hurt. Strange to see them in a city!

  10. The rabbit with the autumn-decoration is funny and nice :)

Thanks goodness, the deer was not involved in an accident.

The weather makes just what it wants - - I do not like too strong rain. Climate is changing - -

You have an excellent collection of teacups!

  11. A week without DH? Does he often go away that long? I will be interested to hear how you enjoy yourself; you seem like someone who would enjoy the difference for a few days at least.

I'm planning to work a lot in the garden tomorrow to get it ready for the rains that I pray will be coming next month. The planter boxes need a coat of sealer, for one thing. Happy Homemaking, Dear Granny!

  12. We were supposed to have light thundershowers this morning, all morning. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. We could really use some rain too. Things are mighty dry.
Hubby may be flying out again on Monday for a week or two. Too bad you and I couldn't have a pajama party! :-)
Glad no people or deer were hurt.
    Take care of yourself.
    Blessings.

  13. It poured rain here most of yesterday (Friday), and we certainly needed it. I'm getting things in order after our vacation. When my husband is gone for a few days, I always have big plans, but usually end up doing a lot of reading and no cooking!

  14. So glad for your drought to be over. Glad no one was hurt when the deer ran out...would not want to see the deer or people hurt.

    Love that teacup.

  17. Well, you will have a good week at home, doing all the things it's hard to do when a spouse is there! Have fun :) I'm so glad for your rain. It feels so wonderful after drought, and your plants will be SO happy, and you won't have to water! Adam has accepted a new teaching position, so he will be gone all day, 5 days per week now also, and I'll have loads of time at home to get stuff done! Why is it hard to get stuff done when a spouse is there? I have no idea!

  18. It is unusual to see deer in the city, and as long as all goes well, it is an exciting experience. I loved the tea-cup you showed today, so cute :) Enjoy your days on your own, and do what you want and use te time as you wish!

  19. I love that pretty tea cup and saucer! When my daughter was quite small and (still believed in Santa).....she and I were at an intersection light......when 8 deer crossed the intersection in front of us! It was just before Christmas here and how she was convinced that Santa was already in town and was hiding somewhere where those deer walked off to. It was such a fun thing to see her eyes light up. To see that many deer was also a wonderful sight. Have a good week ahead!
