There were nine swans on Mill Lake this morning. We didn't plan anything else for after our walk because some of our children were coming to unload a load of mushroom compost which I'm planning on spreading about on perennials just showing new growth. Some did get spread under the roses and the raised box got topped up. The remainder was stockpiled. Getting ready for Spring! Without all the help I get I couldn't keep up with gardening but I'm fortunate that I have willing helpers.
Lunch was served and now I am planning a nap. Showing where I wanted piles of compost dumped tired me out. LOL
Thanks for visiting, GM

ReplyDeleteIt's great to have family help! Happy gardening, at your own pace.
ReplyDeleteChildren are such good helpers arent they!
ReplyDeleteToday has been chilly. Temp not so low, it's just cold! So, I have spring on my mind and there you are, getting your flowers all ready for warmer weather. I can't wait til it's warmer. These old bones get cold and when they get cold, they get cranky!!
ReplyDeleteGetting a good start for those plants! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good nap.
Looks like busy times around your house. That's exciting. So glad you have a lot of helpers!
ReplyDeleteMushroom compost, I wish I had a place around here to get some. It would be wonderful to add something new to my soil.
ReplyDeleteNot much better than family...I'm sure it tired you out...lol...

Congratulations for your good helpers! What a blessed family, what a blessed work they do! You got tired, because you know, that a lot of work is waiting in your garden for you. You all do for praising the Lord and His wonders in nature and garden. I suppose the meal was very fine!
ReplyDeleteThat looks to this gardener like a truckload of gold!

I bet you will just have a lovely garden this year, with that good compost all around! That's a lot of work, even with the helpers: You needed a nap for helping your plants wake up from their long winter's nap! I love the flowers in the jar painting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to have such willing helpers. I know how you feel about not being able to garden if you didn't have them. I'm the same way...if it weren't for my husband's willingness to do the heavy lifting and deep planting.
ReplyDeleteMy mind has been in garden planning mode too! We still have snow on the ground and it's frozen so it will be a while yet, but a girl can dream, right?
