Zero Celsius on this frosty late February morning. No wind so we had a pleasant walk. Lots of different ducks on the lake with the ever-present Canada Geese.
Came home and did some tidying up. Watered my house plants and took a picture of the Thanksgiving Cactus which is blooming again. The yellow one has many more flowers than the white one for some reason.
My Hyacinth opened and couldn't support the heavy bloom so I stuck a chopstick into the pot and tied it up.
What's keeping you busy today? I feel like baking but am determined to use up what's in the freezer before making anything else. Guess I'll pour myself a cup of coffee and decide what comes next.
Thanks for coming by,
Your plants are very nice so is the cactus. Today, I have been sewing , cleaning and cooking…and drinking coffee with a scone! 😆
ReplyDeleteJust dropped my car at the garage for new brakes $$$. We have been keeping my daughter's dog lots of walks and fun having a dog again. And a coffee sounds perfect right now.

Gorgeous cacti! I' just sitting with a hotpad to keep the pain under control.
ReplyDeleteWe started our day, after breakfast, with our Tuesday Zoom meet up. We have a former teacher friend who now lives in Maine. Several other teacher cfriends join in.
ReplyDeleteThen we went for a walk over at the park, and I got my mile done. It's holding at 36 F here with remnants of snow from a white shower yesterday.
Now I hve been sorting through some photos on my computer, thinking about my next blog post, and reading some our yours and other blog friends.
I have never seen the yellow flowered cactus! So unusual. My red one is having another burst of flower, very pretty and it has gone on for months now.
ReplyDeleteI would like to be sniffing that hyacinth right now.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen a yellow Thanksgiving cactus and how nice to have it blooming again. Do you keep it in a sunny location?
I just poured another cup of coffee to wake me up. It's a dark, dreary day here. I did get out for my garden club meeting earlier which was fun.
The plants are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFunny that we both had the same sunrise time!! Soon we will be plunged into the dark again in the morning.
Beautiful flowers ...
ReplyDeleteToday was a washing day, so tomorrow will be ironing day!
But, I did take some time to enjoy a cuppa and read a little more of my book.
All the best Jan
It was a delightfully lovely sunshiny day here - but we are to get snow tonight - tis the way this winter has been, very strange! I love your beautiful blooming flowers! I have a Thanksgiving cactus also, their blooms are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour plants are beautiful. I don't usually do well with flowering plants, but I have some plain green plants that thrive nicely and I manage to keep them alive for years and years. Linda, imagesisee.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteMy Christmas cactus has just finished blooming again. The flowers are beginning to wither and fall off now. Love that blue hyacinth. I can imagine how lovely it smells.
ReplyDeleteFirst a cup of tea or coffee: This is the best! :)
ReplyDeleteFlowerwonder in your house! They want to say "Thank you" and to give a present to you!
We also have the same weather here in the Bavarian Forest.
I can smell the hyacinth from here!! Yum!
ReplyDeleteCleaning day for me...laundry.
hugs
Donna
The weather has been very erratic here too. It's a frigid -22C this morning for us. Your plants are beautiful, I especially love the yellow/apricot colored cactus. The hyacinth is too but their scent is too strong for me in the house and it's too cold here over winter for them to survive as outside bulbs. Another day of sorting pictures and shredding paper that is long overdue.

Your hyacinth is absolutely beautiful...such a pretty color. I'm so glad you shared a picture of your yellow cactus. I have one that my cousin started for me a good while ago and it finally bloomed last fall, but it only had a couple of blooms. It's still rather small in size. And my white one bloomed then also, but neither of them are showing signs of blooming now. I think it must be the lighting. I want to repot all of my Christmas cactus plants before much longer.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos of the plants in your home. Have a nice day!! ❤
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty blooms. Your plants always look so healthy. I am looking forward to warmer days when I can get out and dig in the dirt.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning! I've missed talking with you about your daily activities. We've been pretty sick with whatever this stuff is and still trying to help Mom get adjusted to her new apartment. Not an easy task when she doesn't remember anything we've talked about only an hour before!
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit your home where there are always beautiful plants and yummy homemade treats waiting. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday my dear friend.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
