Failed Project

It is a mystery to me that I do not seem able to do even simple crafts. This was shown to me again this morning. Let me explain.
I went to the Dollar store to buy something ( that they were out of) but I saw that they had a nice selection of summer bulbs.  I chose 2 bags and once I got home I thought I'd give them a headstart and pot them up inside. In order not to disturb them too much at planting time I planned on making newspaper "pots",

I went online and found this little video which seemed easy enough. I watched it twice then tried to follow along as the fellow made one.

This was what I ended up with. AND this is my second try, too!

I gave up and made my own version which hopefully won't fall apart when I come to transplanting time.  Meanwhile I had a good laugh and am carrying on with my day.

Thanks for coming by. I hope you had a chuckle at my expense!

  4. I am the same way. Things like that just don't work out for me. I like your way best.

  5. I am laughing with you not at you. Yours look fine and are fit for purpose (I can never keep up with the tutorials on yourtube either)

  7. This is something I wouldn't even try. Good for you for giving it a go.

  8. I tried making paper pots too and I also failed! I like your idea much better. Great idea!!

  9. I like the idea, but I think your adaptation will work just as well. By planting time, with all of the watering that takes place, I think the paper will sort of mold to the soil and tansplanting should go well. If the paper doesn't stick with the soil, that's ok too. I like the thought: Think Spring!

  10. This would be me! Projects that require some orderly spatial arrangement, folding, looking at directions and then looking down at my work... ah, it's the last step there, in the few seconds of which my brain turns everything upside down!!

  11. Same here, not that good at making things like that, I think what you did was great! Saw your comment on my blog re: your cataract... so sorry that the surgery did not make it better. I hope you can see a good ophthalmologist... a specialist ophthalmologist can be good as well... our vision is worth fighting for, even if we have to go to more than one specialist to make it happen. May God be with you and your ever present help in trouble! a big HUG!

  13. I like the plastic pots for transplanting. Since the are somewhat flexible, it is easy to tip the plant out with it's mass of roots which will hold the soil all together. Minimal disturbance to the roots. Your paper box attempt made me chuckle, but at least you tried, I probably wouldn't have! Those are pretty flowers, I hope they do well for you!
