In the Garden

Large buds on the Poppies are ready to pop!

The white Rugosa is beginning to bloom...

                                           ...as are the pink ones.

My white Bleeding Heart seems to have disappeared but the pink ones are looking good.

I didn't get very far with my plan to make glass flowers but I did put these oversized Christmas balls onto holders that my DH made.

I had a lovely Mothers Day and was thoroughly spoilt by my family. There was also a delicious cake that my youngest son brought but we ate it before I thought to take a picture.

Are you having a good week?   It's cool and rainy here today. A chance to get some housework done!!

Thanks for coming by,

  1. Oh poppies...I love those, but unfortunately so do the gray squirrels that live around our home. I have tried to grow those over the years and every time just when the bulb is ready to open up they eat it, quite disappointing! I finally gave up.
Bleeding hearts are another one of my favorites yours look beautiful. How wonderful that you had a lovely Mother's Day and to think that your son brought a beautiful cake, how sweet.
Today our weather is actually sunny and warm and I was finally able to get out and do all the bays in the motorhome, organized cleaned and packed them. That was quite an accomplishment!
I'm off to my grandson's baseball game this evening so it's been a wonderful day.

    Take care~

  2. No roses here yet, and no big poppies popping yet either. This cool, rainy weather will slow things down, but that's good Everything was going too fast in the heat of last week.

  6. I see a branch of white bleeding hearts (on the right) in your pic, so all is not lost. I feel that it sometimes does not stick around for many years, the bleeding heart. I had one once.....I'm thinking I should transplant some of the wild ones from the back of our property to my the shaded bed I have.

    1. You're right, Karen. I had not noticed the that. The pink one ( which is a volunteer) obviously overshadows the white one.

  9. What a robust bleeding heart! I had one for a few years, a gift from my husband. It never got very big, and then it passed away. They don't generally do well here; my understanding is that they like a colder winter.

  12. I spied one sweet little white bleeding heart to the right of the pink/red one. It is beautiful and I had no idea there was such a thing as a white one! Now I know of something to add to my ever-growing list of perennials. :)

I am so glad that your family spoiled you for Mother's Day. It couldn't have happened to a more wonderful person. xx

  14. Oh such beautiful flowers. I so enjoyed the "walk around" your garden. Not so much as a dandelion in bloom here. We are having a very cold and late spring. Hope to get back blogging when gardens bloom and places are summery. Until then I will enjoy your lovely pictures.
