I was sitting on the porch with my coffee and noticed a Robin come for a bath. All he really wanted was a little peace to enjoy a quick dip but the House Sparrows, brash and pushy as usual came along and barged right in.
I can just imagine the Robin telling the Sparrows to get lost!!
Shortly after the Robin and Sparrows left this Goldfinch dropped by. We don't see Goldfinches very often. Maybe it was on its way South.
I sure enjoy watching the comings and goings at the birdbath.
I'm having a relaxing day after yesterday when I had no less than 23 things on my to-do-list.
Some days are just like that. I hope yours is going well.
Thanks for visiting, GM
I love your photo essay...I can just imagine the speech bubbles one could insert! Your garden still looks so lovely. We had a killer frost last night and -5C forecasted for tonight so my flower beds have had it for the season.

Such pretty birds!
ReplyDeleteThey are all so adorable! I love watching the birds too :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your bird bath. Ours need cleaning out, I can't do it, and Tom has been doing lots of other stuff. The mosquitoes just drove me back inside after picking flowers so I can'r see my bird baths any way.
ReplyDeleteso thanks.
Oh I enjoy watching the birds in the bird bath too. At the old house in town we had a water feature right outside the kitchen window and I used to watch the birds in it all the time. Usually the Robins seemed to enjoy the water the most.
ReplyDeleteDoes that mean you have nothing left from that long list of yesterday?
ReplyDeleteIt's a very good thing to have time to watch the birds!!
I managed to do everything on that list but some were only 10 minute jobs that I kept forgetting to do so it's not THAT impressive.
DeleteLovely bird-scenes! I see the Robin really speaking to the Sparrows!!!! :) :) :)
ReplyDelete23 points on one day for a to do list is a lot!
I have always loved watching the bird-bath visitors. Have you noticed that the different species of birds use different methods of having a bath? Some sit and enjoy, others seem to dip and run. I always found it very fascinating :)
ReplyDeleteI love watching birds....that can be fun and relaxing.
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of the birds in your birdbath. Hope you got all your "to dos" done yesterday!
ReplyDeleteHi G.M., We have a Bird Bath in our backyard- we get a lot of birds from Parrots to Cockatoos using it. Over forty years here and we've only seen one Owl and a pair of King Parrots- these are rare birds. Have a great weekend. Cheers. KEV.
ReplyDeleteI brought my birdbath from the house and have it next to the RV right under the window with my chair. But I haven't seen any birds in it since the first day. I keep the water fresh and clean but it doesn't seem to attract them at all. We have lots and lots of birds around too so I don't understand it.
ReplyDeleteI loved watching the birds at your bath facility. The robin looks very happy and I can imagine that he wasn't happy to have all of the sparrows come spashing around.
Blessings,
Betsy
A joy to see the birds, I find it so relaxing sitting and watching the comings and goings of the birds. So nice to see the Robin.
ReplyDeleteWow, fantastic pics of the birds! The goldfinch is so beautiful.

Wow, 23 things on your to-do list! You need a relaxing day after that! I had a pileated woodpecker yesterday. Wondering when it will be safe to put the suet feeder back up. We have LOTS of goldfinches here. I guess it used to be the state bird, before the loon got voted in. :)
ReplyDeleteSo interesting and lovely photos of the birds!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures of the birdbath and the Robin are amazing. Looks like pages from a book. So beautiful. Oh, I bet you did enjoy sitting there watching.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter gave me a birdbath several years ago but we have never seen any birds in it. I loved your photos!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so sweet! What joy!
ReplyDeleteWe've always ;loved watching the birds, really miss having our own backyard to do that. The birdbath spot was always the busiest area and the most fun to watch. When the oldest grandkids were little back in the early 2000s, they would sit for a long time just watching with us. It was fun for us to wach the expressions on their little faces. hmm, I think the two newest youngest grandkids need a birdbath in their backyard. :D Blessings to you, GM!!
