Finally we were able to resume our morning walks today. The paths in the park were not cleared but they were not slippery. The temperature is hovering around 0 C now. Unfortunately more snow is forecast for later today and also for tomorrow. "Hazardous conditions expected" is the headline on the weather page.
On our walk to the park we passed this house with a cat in the window that looked a lot like our last kitty. He was such a handsome cat but when we got a dog he ( the cat) ran away. He came back once I guess he wanted to see if that annoying pup was gone and when he saw it was still around he ran away again and never came back.
We celebrated middle son's birthday last evening and I had made a cheesecake. I made it like I usually do, in a springform pan. Unfortunately when my DH picked it up intending to put it in the fridge the latch thing on the side of the pan somehow unhooked and the bottom fell out onto the floor. Luckily right side up. Needless to say the cheesecake was very cracked up and although everyone said it tasted fine no pictures of it were taken.
As usual I thank you for coming by, GM
"The proof of the cheesecake is in the eating, not the looking." I will take cheesecake any time, any way, in any condition! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteGlad you can resume your walks. Did you watch the show Friends? Your story of the cheesecake reminds me of an episode of it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's day!
We are gearing up for a big snowstorm. I'm hoping that the snow will make for warmer temperatures, I'm tired of the frigid cold.
ReplyDeleteOh no too bad about the cheesecake!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to take your walk. Still no town walk for me but glad I have the lane to walk along even in the snow!!
Cheesecake is always on the menu for Dennis and our daughter's birthdays too. They love them. They both like the jello instant ones much better than the ones I bake though so that makes it really easy!
ReplyDeleteWe'resurviving the cold here in the RV but have had no running water since Thursday. We're making do though and it's really cozy in here.
Take care and stay warm.
Blessings,
Betsy
This is the first time I see snow in your blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet cat! I'm so sorry, that you have lost your cat, which looks like this cat. A sigh came from my breath reading the story. I also once lost a very beautiful cat with silver coat. I hope, our lost cats have found a good home - -
Please excuse me, but a smile came into my face, when I read, that you don't have a photo of the broken cake - - important is, that the taste was fine.
It's been snowing here for two days, but will start raining tonight/tomorrow. Your cheesecake mishap made me smile - such things have happened here, too. Have a good Family Day!
ReplyDeleteThe cheesecake was saved! Hope you had a nice lunch.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you! Sorry to hear about your cheesecake. Chris
ReplyDeleteSo is it possible that the cat in the window is your runaway cat, or was that too long ago? No matter how cheese cake is served, even cracked a bit, it is always a winner! Yay for getting outside for a walk!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the cake! It is good you got back to your walking. I hope the snow not makes too much new troubles for walking. It is supposed to be snow here today too.
ReplyDeleteI hope the coming snow is not too bad and you get some warmer weather soon. Oh no the poor cheesecake. Even though it really doesn't matter as it does taste the same things like that are so annoying. They happen to me all the time!
ReplyDeleteWe too have managed to drop a cake! I bet it tasted pretty good though!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that the cheesecake was enjoyed despite the mishap though I'm sure you were disappointed that it happened. Have you ever taken a pizza out of the oven too quickly and all the topping slid off into the oven while you pulled out the pan? Well, that happened to me once. I can smile about it now but it sure wasn't so funny at the time. Hope you all enjoyed celebrating the birthday regardless!

Happy birthday to your middle son and oh my goodness, my fav is cheesecake! Girl....granny used to say that it didn't matter what it looked like but everything mattered on the taste! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that the cheesecake could be rescued from the mishap. Glad you were able to get outside again for your walk.
ReplyDeleteGlad the cheesecake landed right side up...bet it was still delicious. I've just never heard of such strange weather every where. We have more rain coming in overnight with a possible thunderstorm!! Happy Birthday to your son.
ReplyDeleteStay warm! A blessing that you were able to go on a walk! Thank God that the cheesecake landed right side up! 🥰 we all have moments like these 💛
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a very opinionated cat, lol. I'm sure he insinuated himself into someone else's cozy home. Hey, as long as the cheesecake didn't actually make contact with the floor it's good to go! Yum! Stay safe out there! :)
ReplyDeleteSo sad about your kitty. Heartbreaking.
