The heavy downpour beat down some of the poor Irises and I cut them off and brought them in even though I don't really like Irises as a cut flower. To me they look awkward and top-heavy but I'll give them a day or two before they become compost.
Thanks for visiting today, GM
Gorgeous! Even the ones that got rained on.😊
ReplyDeleteIrises are wonderful and amazing flowers. They also begin to bloom here in Bavaria now. They flourish always on the birthday of my beloved old priest, his birthday in on June, 8th. He once said to me: "My birthday is, when Isis blow." In Germany you call them SWORD LILY
ReplyDeleteIris are always so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty colors in your iris collection. I grew them in my last house and rather miss them now.
ReplyDeleteI like all the different colours in your irises. I agree about them not making very attractive cut flowers, but in the group of vases you have, they look quite fine.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. My iris has all finished blooming here. Am I supposed to cut the leaves back to the ground? I saw that some of my neighbors have done that but I haven't had them before.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I dont grow Iris but loved looking at yours, such delicate colours.
ReplyDeleteVery nice flowering Iris you have there G.M. We do not have many flowers here at our home- so, it'd be nice for sure.
ReplyDeleteMy oh my, they are gorgeous, especially the one in the 2nd photo and the bright yellow!

Your iris are gorgeous. Your yard looks like spring into summer. A treasure chest filled with yellows, purples, lavenders peeking out above pointed leaves.
