We've had such wonderful weather through September and October and I have thoroughly enjoyed the sunny days without the heat of summer. Today clouds have moved in and we're hoping for rain. The ground is so very parched.
I haven't been doing anything other than all the usual things we all do. Laundry, vacuuming, baking, Nothing blog-worthy so that explains my 5 day absence. In the interval we did celebrate 2 birthdays. Youngest son's birthday was on the 17th and eldest daughter was the next day. Almost exactly 12 years between them. (there are 3 more children between those 2). Yes, those were busy years.
I made a quick trip to the thrift store yesterday and noticed that Christmas "stuff" is being displayed. Kind of early but nice and cheery to see. Here are a couple of pictures...
Thanks for popping by today.
Granny M.
It is also nice here but fortunately we also have rain. I have a lot of Xmas decorations and don’t think I will buy new ones this year. My son in Dubai is moving from his flat in December and will not be able to come. Catherine
ReplyDeleteLove the Christmas stuff! I have already put a couple things out.
ReplyDeleteNever too early for holiday cheer on shelves in my opinion. Get the good stuff before they sell.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday wishes to both!!
Autumn has been so beautiful this year. Glad you found some nice things at the thrift store. Enjoy the cooler weather and fall.
ReplyDeleteAll the Christmas goodies are hitting our shops now too - and people are buying them! But I guess Christmas isn't really that far away and will soon be here. Sometimes the years seem to be going by so fast :)
ReplyDeleteOur sunny October days have not been so pleasant. As of the last two days we have now achieved the worst air in the world. Wild fire smoke has caused health problems and cancelled outdoor activities. Looks like in order to get cleaner air we have to give up sunshine, so let the wind and rain come!
ReplyDeleteI do hope that the clouds in your sky will deliver some much needed rain! I too noticed that our MCC thrift store has put out all of the Christmas decor, plates, etc. but it's just thrown willy nilly on the shelves, definitely nothing attractive like at your thrift store. Advertisements for Christmas craft sales coming up in November are already being posted. It's all abit too early for me but having said that I will have to clean out my freezer somewhat in the next few weeks or else there won't be any room for Christmas baking!

The weather has been great here too. Love those crisp morning walks. Happy Belated Birthday wishes to your kids.
ReplyDeleteI would have njoyed a few more sunny days here!
ReplyDeleteThe fine October is revealed through your photos!
ReplyDeleteI love your pics from the thrift store...even though it's a little early....it still looks so nice to me. Trying to figure out my Christmas cards for this year and get Christmas hints from the family before the weeks fly by! Take good care Granny!
ReplyDeleteWow you have 5 children! Great! And all are your best friends, I know!
ReplyDeleteSlowly our thoughts go to Christmas. Time is running, so we must enjoy every year this spiritual way to Christmas. Why not already now in autumn? Best greetings to you from Dori
I saw they had Christmas stuff on display here in the thrift store too now. We have downsized to a smaller apartment so I have less space for displays. Maybe I should deliver something to the thrift store. I mentioned it last year to one of our sons, then he said "then we have to look through it first if we want to keep any of it". Christmas decorations carry many childhood memories :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are busy with family fun at the most beautiful time of the year!
ReplyDeleteThat thrift store looks like so much fun — so neat and organized! I am surprised at myself but I wanted to put my Christmas tree up the other day! I must be going mad!
ReplyDeleteWe have a beautiful week for moving. Next week is supposed to be rain all week so this is really nice. We've had 60's and 70's and blue sky all week.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been shopping much but I did notice at Hobby Lobby two weeks ago, all the Christmas was out already!
Blessings,
Betsy
I noticed that Wal-Mart had Christmas displays out in September...
ReplyDeleteI chuckled at your comment about the busy years with your five children. It reminds me of my daughter with her six. She's finally getting to the stage where some have outgrown carseats. Much easier to fit them all in the van, ha ha. She's on the go constantly with sports and homeschool co-op, etc. Hope you get some rain! God bless you and yours! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice looking thrift store. Oh, I just looked back at your posts I had missed. Those kittens are simply adorable. Is there anything cuter than a kitten. Wish one of them were coming to live here. :)
