Teddy Bears

If you are not interested in Teddy bears I want to warn you right now that that is all this post is about.

I took out the Winter bears just this week which means the Autumn bears have joined the Spring bears under the bed. I rotate them because I don't have space for all of them at the same time and also I appreciate them more this way.

The rest of the bears shown are out all year. These two (below) are made of recycled fur coats.

This guy is called Craigdarroch because he came from the gift shop in the castle of the same name.
 ( Victoria, B.C.)

Now we come to the ordinary teddies that I find endearing in spite of their being quite ordinary.

Some sit high on the old wardrobe....

                                     others perch on my bookshelves....

others have found a spot in the sun room.

This trio sits on a short flight of stairs.

                                      A tea party

and one last photo, again a tea party.

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my bears today.
What, if anything, do you like to collect?

Thanks for visiting,
Please leave a comment so I know you came by.

  2. Your Teddy Bear collection is awesome, my friend! I think mostly what I collect now are Lebkuchen tins, and dishes. :) If I had more room I would collect a lot more! :) Thank you so much for sharing your collection with us.

  3. That was a really cute, feel good post! Wow that is quite the collection though! They are so cute, I want to cuddle them. I had the one with the oshkosh overalls, although I think the teddy sans overalls became a dog toy. In my early crafting days I used to make them out of fabric, and still have a couple. I did make a few out of old fur coats, and one was a special order for someone that was wanting to recycle a fur coat with sentimental value.

  6. That's a great collection of bears!
My collections of pottery and advertising kitchen utensils are pretty much closed. I have decided it is time to stop adding anymore stuff.

  8. Actually no, I don't really collect.

But today, Nov. 8th, I am looking back on a collection of 59 years married, to/with my husband.

  9. Love all your bears Granny Marigold! Like Linda I don't really purchase too much anymore. I do have a weakness for old quilts though!

  10. You do have a collection! They are very sweet, and I love how you have them set up, esp. the tea parties. I bet your grandkids enjoy(ed) playing with them!
I have a small collection of tea pots, but had to stop before it got out of hand. I have a large collection of books, esp. children's books. And my yarn stash is quite out of hand but I hardly think of it as a collection. More like an addiction!

  11. Lovely to read about and see your collection of bears...a fair few live here as well, plus the Christmas bears and friends who only come out for a few weeks for the Festive period.

  12. I LOVE the bears, and the winter bears would probably be my favorites. I would love to hold one of the bears made from a fur coat, and I would also love to hold the girl bear wearing the sweater (seventh picture down).

  13. I like you one with the sweater and bib overalls the best!
I collect many things. TOO Many! I used to collect depression glass dishes, and have a set for each of my daughters. Then I collected marbles and dice because they are so small and easy to display...just put them in a jar. I still collect them, along with old photographs and old games...which I may sell on ebay this winter:)

  14. I really enjoyed seeing your teddy bears. I only ever had one. It was a much loved pink bear I got for Christmas as a wee child. I still have it, but it's packed away in the attic with the rest of my childhood toys.

As for things I collect. I used to collect cookbooks, but it has been quite a while since I added any to my collection.

    Blessings~
