This and That

My Christmas Cactuses ( Cacti?) are blooming!

I baked the second fruit cake, a dark one this time, with molasses and dates etc.. I find I'm not as fond of it as I thought.  Hmmm. Don't think I'll bother making it ever again.

With help from the grands we got the tree up and decorated in the sun room...

.... and the white tree in the living room.

Even found a spot for these Teddies to stand.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!

Thanks for visiting today.

  1. The trees look so pretty! Our weather was so warm today. I think I need cooler weather for decorating. We'll see.

  4. Yes, you are ready!!!!!

That sun room, what a lovely place for a tree. And your white one, in the living room is lovely too.

Would you believe, for all my "waxing poetic" about "The Season," on my blog.... I am still not decorated?!?!?

Wreath up on front door!! That's it!

Guess I need less "waxing poetic" and more DOing. ,-)))))

  6. Your tress are so very pretty! I had a Christmas cactus but had to give it away as it had grown too bog for my house. I never thought to keep a slip of it first. Years later I am looking for another one. I love fruit cake, yours does look delicious. Sorry that you don't care for it.

  7. The Christmas cacti are so pretty!
    Wow, two trees!
If I come across my mom's fruitcake recipe I'll share it since I don't seem to be getting around to making it myself. I really like it. It's mostly pecans, dates and maraschino cherries with just enough cake to hold it together. :)

  8. Hi Granny Marigold, your trees look so pretty! My Christmas cactus is blooming too. I think we have had it for around 15 years and it never has been a big bloomer but at least it blooms.
Your fruitcake looks good! Hubby has been asking for one. I must find a recipe a friend gave me years ago. It turned out really well.
    Take care.

  10. It all looks so pretty and like Christmas there! I tried making a dark fruitcake several years ago. It called for molasses, and we did not like it. I've never used that recipe again.
