Two more books for youngest son...
Friday morning we do the grocery shopping for the week. The fellow in the produce dept. was just putting aside all the "singles" and was nice enough to put them into 2 bags and mark them 30% off. I see lots of Banana loaves in my family's future!
That's my not-so-interesting post for today.
Have a pleasant weekend!!
Granny Marigold
Banana bread, banana muffins, banana pancakes, banana splits!
ReplyDeleteLiving day by day, sounds like you had a pleasant day!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading Anna Karenina, difficult reading at times, but glad I accomplished that. The bananas look too good to be markdowns!
ReplyDeleteThey weren't actually marked downs. The store tends to gather all the lone bananas and bag them for sale 30% off . Since there were no over ripe ones my DH went over to the fellow sorting the lone ones out and asked him if he intended to mark them down. He did. Filled 2 bags for us.
DeletePays to have a good rapport with your produce worker. That doesn't happen here.
DeleteIs the top picture from a seed packet or a seed catalog? It is beautiful...love all of the colors! I've been hungry for banana bread so think I'll take some bananas out of the freezer and make some tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure but I think maybe a seed catalog. It's another picture I took off the internet.
DeleteI like frozen bananas smashed just to eat or put in my smoothie! I guess you win some and lose some on the books! Nancy
ReplyDeleteI can smell the banana bread baking:)
ReplyDeleteWe were in there Thursday night and there were no marked down bananas then, darn!
ReplyDeleteSorry. Did you see my reply to Wykeham Observer?
DeletePoppy just finished the last slice of banana nut bread. We both love it, and it's perfect for using up ripe bananas. I'm back to reading the second Mitford Series book, A Light in the Window by Jan Karon.
ReplyDeleteGood Sat morning. I love your background Granny as you call yourself. Then I like your seed package. Barnard.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy books but I like Christian study books. Many years I did read the Mennonites novels. Found out reading so many same stories.
Have you tried bananas and custard, it makes a great dessert.
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy.
DeleteThe Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky books are always tempting. Did you get the little fox painting at the thrift store? It's so cute! Have fun using up those bananas! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I did get that cute pic at the thrift store. It only has the initials OD on the back so I'm thinking it was someone's 'project', not something mass produced. Makes me like it all the more.

DeleteSeeing the title "the Cannibal's Cookbook" sure got me to google that title lickety split...was wondering what you were going to be cooking up in your kitchen next, haha! Glad to hear you're sticking with normal fare like banana bread, lol.
ReplyDeleteEllabie
I made some chocolate chip banana bread a week ago and it was so delicious, I wished I had made two loaves! Will you tell us what you do with your bananas?
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny - you and Henny Penny both just apologized for a boring post :) I love your plate rack in that photo, very pretty. I did lots of reading for my literature major, but I was never much of a fan of those LONG Russian novels. Glad somebody out there loves them.
ReplyDeleteYay for banana bread! You'll be greatly appreciated, GM!
ReplyDeleteI hope the wind didn't come your way.
