It's been a busy day. First thing we did was to do our weekly grocery shopping. It's nice to go first thing in the morning before the stores get too busy. We came home, had a quick cuppa then left for our walk. By the time we came back it was time to leave for my appointment with the ophthalmologist's office to have some more tests done apparently to measure my eyes in preparation for cataract surgery. I'm not sure why now since the surgery isn't scheduled until July!! Oh well, got that done.
After lunch I felt like baking and made Orange/Date Muffins as well as a Banana Loaf. ( Over ripe bananas were cheap). Now I have a pot of pea soup simmering and I'm looking forward to a quiet relaxing evening.
I hope you had a great day too, no matter what it was you were doing.
Thanks for coming by. I love the comments you leave.

Orange date muffins sound delicious. We had a very cold day here in MN and the muffins would have been good!
ReplyDeleteI stock up when I see reduced bananas. Slice them up and put them in the dehydrator. Love homemade dried bananas, they are kind of chewy. Not fond of the hard crunchy commercial ones.
ReplyDeleteI got my laundry room project finished in Oliver, and we had chicken soup for supper!
I'm assuming you will be going to Chilliwack for your cataract surgery? You should have great results! Larry was finally given the ok to get new glasses. It's been a long road since his cataract surgery four years ago. But then the cataract surgery aggravated another condition he had, so that had to be fixed as well.
Sounds like a good day, I spent yesterday crafting making a few bits and pieces for the newly decorated kitchen.
ReplyDeleteSounds like cataract surgery is a long process. Would think things might change between now and July! I love the nesting bowls you have pictured. I actually have the small bowl (only) to that set. It sits on display in my kitchen and rarely gets used, but the sunny color makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a nice day. The baking and soup sound delicious! :)
ReplyDeleteSoup sounds so good. I just finished with cataract surgery, so glad to get it behind me. Hope all goes well for you in July.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day! I love pea soup, I'm going to make my own recipe for :
ReplyDeleteMinty Fresh Pea soup, later this week. Your baking made me hungry!!!

Your new header is so pretty. I sure need spring! Don't know how in the world I've missed your last few posts. The foods you cook always sound delicious, and you have such a variety of things. Here, it's the same old things. I love that set of bowls. I found a set at the thrift store that are a lot like yours, but the colors are different.
ReplyDeleteThat is certainly a long wait for surgery! Gosh! I love the pyrex bowls - so vintage! ♥
ReplyDeletepretty bowls! Hope you can get your surgery behind you......the weeks seem to just fly by to quickly!
ReplyDeleteYou got a lot done in one day! The orange date muffins sound so good, and I love a good split pea soup! Have a lovely evening, and thank you for visiting me today :)
ReplyDeleteLove your new header. Someone is looking forward to spring! :) We've had such a mild winter (for us) this year until last week. I think all of winter is going to take place in the month of February! hahaha All of your baking today sounds wonderful! I think I found a recipe similar to your pineapple coconut squares. I hope to give it a try a little later in the week. My hubby is having cataract surgery too. He has one eye done the 20th of this month and the other eye done March 6. They are doing some other things besides the cataracts so I will be thankful when they are both done. I'll be praying for you.
ReplyDeleteI made your orange/date muffins again recently for church, and they are SO SO good - I appreciate that excellent recipe so much.
