I Hope the first day of Spring in your area is a mild and lovely day. Here it';s mild but with showers in the forecast. I worked outside today pulling little weeds that were already blooming!! I'm determined to get rid of them before they form seeds.
A SIL is visiting from the prairies and we've had a lot of family get-togethers over the past days. Today we were all together at another SIL's place for a meal. She had huge bunches of pastel tulips in jars which were set in pretty Easter gift bags. It looked so pretty. The food was tasty...Lasagna and salads and bread with a fantastic chocolate cake for dessert. It had layers of cream in the middle and was beyond decadent. Wednesday our SIL will fly home and life will resume as it tends to do. I'm okay with ordinary days. I actually prefer them. How about you? Do you prefer the ordinary days or the ones that involve visitors and lots of happenings?
Thanks for coming to visit today,
Granny Marigold
I definitely love the ordinary days. Recently, my husband asked me, "What are your dreams?" I replied, "I am living the dream." I am so happy to be home during the day and to have the privilege of spending time with my dear family and my friends. Simple everyday things and encounters. Best. We have snow on the ground so no weed pulling yet. You are a wonderful gardener.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are so full of color today! I know that you have enjoyed having time to spend with family with your SIL visiting. You had me drooling reading about that chocolate cake! :-) I am with you...I actually prefer the ordinary days. Our first day of spring has included rain, sleet and the snow that wasn't supposed to start until 8:00 tonight has already started.
ReplyDeleteI like ordinary days:0 It is snowing here:(
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely pictures M.G. :) spring is not visiting right now... way too cold still... brrr! :/ ... maria
ReplyDeleteI'm an ordinary day kind of person. Introvert I guess. I need my alone time. I will have to check out the kids section for cute rubber boots, those little boots in a row on the gate are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe first day of spring is a welcome event indeed. It is not hard to understand why many ancient peoples worshipped on the solstices.
ReplyDeleteI think we need LOTS of peaceful, ordinary days for our well-being. But we also need celebratory days -- not very often -- but happy ones with gatherings of loved ones. Weddings are good for that. I also love a visit from a loved one, a simple visit without 20 people there and big plans for lots of activity. I love to go visit my mom and just spend a few days with her sipping tea and watching Miss Marple :) It feels like old times.
ReplyDeleteI like ordinary days, but every once in a while I like to bust out. That usually doesn't involve lots of other people though.
ReplyDeleteI'm with MK! Even if kids come to visit I want to keep it simple. I'm never bored when I'm alone, but I have to work at not being alone TOO much. ;) God gives us gifts to share. It's just not "natural" for me. Enjoy your tropical garden. (From those of us still with snow on the ground.) ;)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful times like this with great family and great food are! Love the flower rain boots on your fence! Such lovely tulips!
ReplyDeleteThe boots are cute but I should have said that the picture was from the internet. Sorry.
DeleteI like ordinary days too, but an extraordinary day thrown in here and there is nice too!
ReplyDeleteI love a family get-together, but for the most part, ordinary days are my favorite. The bright rubber boots and flowers are so pretty.
