Something that we have talked about for years is closing in our back porch. It already was closed on three sides as you can see on this old picture. The new windows arrived today and were picked up and brought home, installed by DH and two of our sons. Having the windows will make it possible to use this area earlier in Spring and also later come Fall.
While they were doing the actual installation it looked like such a mess out there!
I was SO afraid they would drop those heavy windows!
Thanks for visiting,
Granny Marigold
That will be great. I have been thinking how nice it would be to have a screened in porch so we can sit out and not be dive bombed by mosquitoes.
ReplyDeleteYour enclosed porch will be so inviting with the sun pouring into those large windows. (Do they face east?) Glad to hear no one got hurt putting those windows in (and that they didn't get dropped)! Is the domed window on the corner your buttery?

How wonderful, I bet you will use it more now:)
ReplyDeleteThose big windows face South !!! I may have to get some blinds. That window lines up with the porch swing and I can see out over the back yard. Once all the work is done I'll take lots of pictures.
ReplyDeleteHi! A closed in porch will be so wonderful for you. If wishing would get me one I would have one too! LOL Nancy
ReplyDeleteYou are going to love having the porch... we love ours.
ReplyDeleteOh that will be nice! Facing south there will be great light, and I see you have a big skylight in it already. And the windows open wide too. Will be awesome on a sunny day in the winter! I see what those shingles are for now ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou are so blessed to have skilled workers in your family. the enclosed porch will be a wonderful place for you.
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be a great place, a wonderful addition to your home. Love the big windows!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Granny! We've thought about closing in our back porch to use it all year round. Love yours!! X Chy
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! That will bring you so much joy...maybe more room for flowers indoors? I'd love to have a sunroom and fill it with indoor plants and flowers but I don't see that happening now. I know you will enjoy having it completely closed in now.
ReplyDeleteHow fun M.G.... now you can use your porch all year round. The decorating possibilities are endless :) maria
ReplyDeleteExciting to have more useable year-round space! Those windows are huge! Lots of light! :)
