Flowers for Easter
We took a drive out in the country to a farm that grows fields of Daffodils and always has a small stand on the yard. That was Tuesday and the buds were slow in opening. I was wondering if they'd be open for Easter Sunday. Here it is Saturday and most have opened. Yellow loveliness.
HAPPY EASTER!!

Happy Easter Granny! Your daffodils are opening up nicely. Hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow! X Chy
ReplyDeleteDaffodils are my favorite spring flower, so cheerful on our often gray days, so brave to stand up to March wind and rain, all the while trumpeting joy!
ReplyDeleteDaffodils are so very cheery and truly a harbinger of spring! I bought some yesterday at the local grocery store and doubted the closed buds would begin to open in time but lo and behold, almost all of them opened overnight! Happy Easter to you and yours!

It's amazing how fast they open up isn't it? When we first moved to the area the daffodils were 75 cents a bunch, or 3/$2. Considering that was in 1986, I guess $1.50 a bunch isn't too bad. From the back of our property we can view a blooming daffodil field to the east, and if we go round by road, the kids there are selling them for $1 a bunch. The grower/breeder up at the corner has his stand out now too, with lots of choices.
