Friday's Flowers and a Poem

I added some greenery to last week's Gerbera Daisies. As you can see they still look fine.

The Tulips and Hyacinth in the mixed Spring container are blooming now. The Daffodils grew too tall and spindly. Underneath are some purple Crocus but they're not very visible. The white Primrose is also still doing okay. I think I'll pop this entire pot into an empty flowerpot outside once it's all done.

Friday is my grocery shopping day and this is the little bouquet I chose at the store. When I first saw those green Chrysanthemums a few years back I didn't like them at all. Now I've changed my mind.

Enough about flowers. How about a wintery poem?

Thanks for visiting. Have a great weekend.

  2. Awww. What a sweet poem! I watch the birds outside my window too. Yesterday we had frost in the morning, and about 10 cardinals (males and females) were nibbling in the crunchy grass. Flowers are so comforting in January!

  3. I am always amazed at your beautiful blooms. Especially the ones you grow yourself. I can not grow anything inside the house . . . after years of trying, I finally gave up. I do very well with a summer garden, just not inside.
Reply to your comment on my latest blog post: Every time I take photos inside I try to do one with flash and one without. Therefore; the colors come out a bit different. I think the last photo shows the color best. When it's setting on the mantel the color will probably depend more whether I have the overhead light turned on or not:) Light has so much to do with it. I'm so happy that you like it, thank you :)
Wishing you a very joy filled day.

  4. My only contribution to feeding birds is to throw some stale bread outside for the crows, lol. But it does disappear, so I think they appreciate it! :) Pretty flowers!

  5. Sure is nice to see all the beautiful colors of the plants. Can't feed birds here at my house, don't want to attract the bears!!

  7. Your flowers are beautiful...but what I love most are those windows you have that let in all that beautiful light. We had sunshine today. It has been a happy day! Love that poem too.

  11. I am surprised that your Nymph amaryllis blossoms are still looking so great! Mine have long been removed and now I'm left with long straggly leaves. It's too cold here to take home any plants from the grocery store but you have inspired me to take out my potting soil and plant my daylily seeds. Like you, I wasn't fond of the green chrysanthemums but now I quite like them. I grew green zinnias last summer but they didn't bloom well for me. Maybe I'll try growing them again this spring.

  14. That's a sweet poem! I do love the chickadees. They are so friendly. I filled my feeders and bought some suet, too. Guess who is enjoying some easy nourishment? Yes, Mr. Squirrel and his wife. Hmmmmm.
