Yesterday I went to the thrift store with the hope of finding Christmas tree decorations. For a miniature tree that I want for the miniature house. (I can imagine some will have read the title of today's blog and thought that Granny Marigold has gone Christmas crazy). No, I'm not putting up a regular Christmas tree just yet!!
Anyway, I had a couple of these little trees and I did my best to make a nice one to go in the living room of the little house.
Here it is complete with tiny gifts under it.
Many of you have seen my little house before but I though more recent followers might like a peek into the other rooms. The dining room is very narrow!! Not much room for more furniture in there.
Incidentally, the light fixtures all work.
I love the little kitchen. It wasn't part of the original house kit but my DH and oldest daughter ( who did most all of the work building it) added a lean-to onto the house. On the picture of the house it's barely visible on the left side. As was the case in many old houses the kitchen is a step down from the dining room.
The bedroom upstairs.
And last of all, the bathroom. See the tiny plunger beside the toilet?
I hope you enjoyed this look into one of my treasures. If I had the room I'd love to have another little house but there's absolutely no room so I have to be satisfied with just one.
I hope you're having a great week!!
GRANNY M.
How sweet! I would like to live in your little house, especially with the Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteI think this is adorable and I love miniature things. If I could shrink myself I would live in this house :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! How darling is this? If I didn't know better I would think it a real size house. I would love to find a sweet little like this and decorate it...please tell the story for us new friends. Really is a little bundle of joy right down to the that plunger...
ReplyDeleteThat's a great little house. I have my mother-in-law's little house, that we bought for her as a kit many years ago. She had do much fun decorating it and furnishing it, including hand woven rugs and upholstery. I have it set up in one of the kid's bedrooms, and the grands used to play with it a bit, but now it is just ignored. I should set it up for Christmas - I have most of the stuff still. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteIf I didn't know better I'd have thought I was touring a real house. It all looks so cozy and authentic. The plunger is too cute. I think your tree and little presents looks just right. How fun it must be to play in there.
ReplyDeleteI want that kitchen!!!! I did enjoy this so much. I always look forward to your posts.

ReplyDeleteI just love your little doll house. Thank you for giving us a tour. The kitchen is just perfect. The Christmas tree works well too in the lounge.
ReplyDeleteYour playhouse is adorable. All the rooms are my favorite! I really love the little bedroom at the top of the stairs. You did a good with the little Christmas tree. There is a house in town that already has their yard all lit up for Christmas...It has been that way for over a week now. That is just a little too early for me.
ReplyDeleteDear Granny Marigold. Your little house (does it have a name?) is absolutely stunning. I love miniatures and you have reminded me of an old dream I used to have, of setting up just such a perfect little house.
ReplyDeleteI smile every time I visit your blog - I love the collage of your header photo with all those cups and saucers. They are so cheerful they always make me feel happy :)

ReplyDeleteLil red hen, Thanks for visiting my blog. I went to see yours, only to find that you are taking a blogging break.
DeleteI'd love to visit once you start up again. Please don't worry about not having anything to blog about. Most of us are just ordinary people interested in the every day lives of other bloggers.
Love your doll house! My husband bought me a doll house to put together 20 years ago...I believe you have inspired me to finally put it together!!Quilting has taken over my spare time for the last 20 years, along with paper crafts...time to do my little house! I had a friend who passed on a couple of years ago who had made a replica of her own kitchen in a 5 gallon rectangle fish (empty of water)tank and it sat on her kitchen table..you would have loved it!!Love your blog
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful doll house! So many great details. It is a treasure! :)
ReplyDeleteI have always loved dolls' houses so much. Yours is fabulous - all those rooms look so real! What a special thing to own. My grandmother built me one as a child, but it fell apart (being made of cardboard, but very pretty) and is no more.
