Sunday walk

We did our usual Sunday morning walk in Elwood park by Fish Trap Creek. The water level is so low and there is vegetation of some sort growing on the water. The few ducks and geese that haven't left to look for a better habitat create lanes in the murky water.

After those depressing pictures you need a smile.

Have a good week.   GM

That did make me laugh! :)

  3. The water looks rather problematic. I see the heat made somehow ill water. I'sorry for that.

    Funny cartoon :)

  4. I love your comic! But I think those waterways look lovely, too. I guess because I'm in the durned desert! Is that duckweed, I wonder. I know the waterways in Louisiana where I'm from got choked with water hyacinth and floating weedlets and it made the water so smelly sometimes!

  5. We are also needing rain to fill up the ponds and streams. Your pictures are beautiful, despite the lower water levels.

  6. Lol...that's funny.

That green growth on the water is called duck weed? Not sure. A Sunday morning walk, tho, is nice!!

  7. It's worrying to see such low water levels. Climate change seems to be having major effects on so many areas.

  8. The weather is so strange everywhere. Too much rain some places, none other places. Too hot, too cold. It's crazy isn't it? Our lake retreat where we used to go in Washington is under a level 3 evacuation which means, "Go NOW!" There is a huge fire just west of the lake. Scary days.
The cartoon is funny. Dennis and I are both fighting head colds we got on our return flight. At least it's not the "C" word!
    Blessings,

    All the best Jan

  10. Hopefully the lake levels will soon rise again - with nice gentle rain though, not a deluge like some seem to receive. Loved the funny at the end :)
