Thrifty Treasures

When Sheila and I went on our fun day I saw this display ( and posted the picture). It was the canvas with the truck painting that caught my eye.

At the thrift store this week I saw this painting and it fairly jumped into my cart!!  I was so pleased to find it and even more so when I realized it lit up!!

I made a little vignette with it on Mom's old Singer   DH collects John Deere tractors and I chose one of his collection as well as a pick-up that he also had. Now I'm looking for more bottlebrush trees to complete my display.

Another lovely 'find' were these Brambly Hedge books ( .25 each). Actually less because it was Wednesday and seniors get a 20% discount.

  1. I just love the painting, and the vignette is perfect! Tractors have a soft spot in my heart as my Daddy sold farm machinery parts, and as a child I spent a great deal of time on my Grandma's farm...
    Merry Christmas,
    Linda

  5. You found some real treasures. I am in love with that painting too. I can see why it hopped into your cart. It's perfect in the vignette that you made. I am not a decorator so I admire it in people like you that can make things so lovely.
    Blessings,

  6. I have never seen individual Brambly Hedge stories like that. I only a few years ago encountered the stories as a collection, which has become a favorite of all the young grandchildren. <3

  17. I love your tractor display and your neat light-up picture. And the model truck, almost thought it was like hubby's but he says it's a different year. In regards to the books, have you ever seen the Tractor Mac series of picture books? They would look neat with your tractor display.
