Winter Solstice

We're having cold weather and we haven't been able to go walking due to the ice on the roads and paths in the park.. The streets were a mess before the snowplow came through.  There were no clouds last night and I got to see the full moon, the last one this year.   The forecast calls for increasing cloudiness tomorrow with snow beginning in the afternoon which then turns to freezing rain in the evening. More days of not walking I'm afraid.

I have 4 of these teacups. The pattern is Christmas Rose and they're made by E B Foley

teacup #54

I know many of you are very busy this last week before Christmas. I hope you find time to sit quietly with a cup of tea or coffee and look out the window. If you feed the birds it's always nice to see which ones come around.

Thanks for visiting,   GM

  1. Happy solstice! I love this day like solstice in summer. Also I have a special desire in these times - the Lord will come -

Happy snow! We also have white colour now from a little bit snow in the mountains in the night before; today we have wonderful sun (7 hours!) and cold weather. But on Thursday the dream will change into snow-rain or rain and grey weather.

    I saw the fullmoon, too!

Thank you for the broadcast, dear Granny Marigold! Have a good and sheltered time!

    Greetings from the Bavarian Forest!

  3. I'm trying to make a moment each day to sit and do nothing! What very icy roads you have, dangerous to drive on, I imagine.

  7. Such pretty teacups. I fixed myself a cup of chai latte tea and sat with the lights off and looked at the tree late last night. It was so nice and quiet.
We haven't had any snow yet this year. Just a few flurries last month that never made it to the ground. I'm not complaining. You know how I feel about snow. The farmers are getting worried though.
    Take care my friend,
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  10. Nice idea about just sitting and looking out the window. Every morning I prepare a simple breakfast and then sit down with my spiritual reading and drink my coffee, eat my breakfast and read and pray, while I also look out the big windows at the lake which is now frozen. We're at the shortest day and can now begin to head the other direction again! Hooray!

  11. Sorry you can't get out and walk, l understand and think you're smart not to try it. Broken bones and or sprains from falls, it's just not worth it. Stay safe and warm. Lovely tea cup.

  12. The ice is so treacherous and it's good to stay indoors. It's so wonderful to think that now the days are increasing little by little. The Christmas Rose teacups are so pretty and unique. Wishing you a most merry and blessed Christmas!

  13. We are feeding the birds with seeds cakes on a bench, and so far it is very small ones. I am glad they are getting their share. The mourning doves wait below for the seeds they spill. Stay warm and yes, stay off that icy mess! What a gorgeous color the Christmas Roses teacups are. Unusual and so rich yet cooling.
