Learning a Lesson

This picture has nothing to do with my post. I just took it from the internet because I didn't have a picture handy and it  is cute.

I had a busy morning doing some shopping. I didn't know that was what was going to happen. Normally Wednesdays are very much "my" day and I had some chores that I wanted to do. Unfortunately DH was not up to going to his volunteer job and got bored sitting around. So...we went shopping.  First store he used his credit card. Next store he went to sit in the truck ( by now he wasn't feeling great) so I found some items and when I went to take out my card it wasn't in my purse. I had to run out and get his. Came home and looked everywhere for that card and just about given up when DH went to look in the truck. Sure enough, it was lying on the floor. I have learned my lesson. Always put it back in the proper place! Recently I've had to use a cane for stability ( my foot!!) and juggling purse, card and cane is a problem. I'm very aware of how annoying it can be when the person at the cashier takes extra minutes to get organized but I'm afraid that's going to be me :(

I got the results back after the X-ray of my ankle and foot.  It showed that when I fell I fractured a bone called the fibula which forms the top of the ankle joint., It will take months to heal. Not the best news but at least now I know what is in store.

Thanks for visiting

  1. The good news it that a broken bone will heal. There will be an end to this.
And I can relate about issues at the check out counter. With a stick in one hand I keep my very small purse on its strap cross body and I have the credit card I always use sticking up out of the card holder in my very small wallet. I just unzip my purse that there it is, and hopefully I will continue to remember to put it right back there before I do anything else.

  2. Oh me oh my. Anytime I've mislaid my wallet or credit card, I've felt quite sick until I've found it. Sorry to hear about your ankle. Hope your DH feels better soon.

  3. I'm sorry for what happened to you. At a certain age these things usually happen to us. I have a habit, as my parents taught me, to always keep important documents in the same place, so that in an emergency I know where I have kept them.

  4. O it's broken! What do you have to do now? I hope you will not have too much problems to organize your doing in any shop or so because of having a stick a card, a piece of anything in one hand! Best wishes - and I love your fine smiling about some kinds of life's stories 🎀
Sweet picture with baby and lamb!

  5. Oh, no wonder why your foot was giving you so much trouble. So sorry but like you said at least you know the reason for it.
Glad you found your credit card - that is a scary feeling.

  6. Linda @ imagesisee.blogspot.com I learned my lesson about putting important things away immediately! so I know how you feel. So sorry about your foot. I thought I had a hairline fracture in my foot about 5 weeks ago. Xray showed it was just a pulled muscle and fortunately it healed pretty quickly. I was very grateful. Just be patient...

  7. I'm SO glad you found your card. I think we've all been there at least once and it's a sick feeling until it's found again. People will just need to be patient with you for the time being. The world has gotten too impatient and unsympathetic towards others. Just smile and say you'll be done as quickly as possible. :-)
I'm glad you know what your injury is. As others have said, the good news is that it should heal just fine and you'll be good as new.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  8. I'm glad that you got some answers about your swollen foot but it's too bad that it's a broken bone....will they have to cast your foot? Hopefully the swelling will go down soon! I can only imagine the fear and anxiety when you first could not find the credit card. I have such a fear of having my wallet stolen or lost! Glad it all turned out but do hope that DH feels better soon! No fun being under the weather with the holidays just around the corner.

  10. I'm so glad to know that you have a diagnosis for your foot. Taking time to heal isn't fun, but it will get better. Juggling all those things, it's no wonder your credit card slipped to the floor. I'm glad you found it.

  11. Always a worry when a card goes missing, but so glad you found it. I can relate to the joys of using a stick, getting tangled with handbag straps, dropping to the floor, and being a perfect nuisance!

  13. So sorry about your broken fibula but that explains the swelling. Hope it gets better every day. I try to put my cards back where they belong everytime I use them...the worst for me is at the gas station, I have learned to put it inside my mittens in the Winter time after I have used it. Nothing worse than that sinking feeling when you cannot find a card when you just had it!

  14. Just recently the same thing happened to me just as I was going away. So I froze my card so no one could use it. I did find it.
sorry about your foot I do hope you heal up quickly

  15. It is so very upsetting to lose a credit card...and back about 3 yrs ago, Roger lost his wallet two or three times. Talk about upset. I went and looked in vehicle, etc. Finally thought to check beside the stationary bike and it had fell out of his pocket all the times.

Yes, also a relief to actually know what is going on with your ankle...at least they say it will heal. So it could be worse...but I know it is not fun waiting for it to heal. Ask me how I know. Or if you want to know more, look at my single blog post in March of 2018!

  19. Glad they found what happened to your foot. I walk with a stick and I know how difficult it is so o use a cross body bag and pay a lot of attention when I have to get my credit card out and in. Glad you found it again.
