Faeries and notebooks

I picked up this book about faeries at the thrift store. I'm not terribly interested in the text but it is full of such well-done sketches that I couldn't resist.  It makes me think of my book about gnomes.

Here are a few glimpses of the pages.

I've been in a cleaning up mode and I looked through my stash of notebooks waiting to be filled with heaven only knows what. I think I have enough to last me the rest of my days. ( That does NOT mean that if I find a really nice one I won't buy it).

Notebooks and pens I'm so fond of  . Hmmm. I should go look for a few new pens....

I hope you having a wonderful weekend.... a long one for us in Canada.  After this weekend school starts and it really will feel like Fall.

  1. I like fairy art, too. I'm sort of picky about favorites, though. I ordered some more pens today. I love them. Notebooks pile up, don't they? I have a lot more than I need.
I hope you have a lovely weekend, GM! Yay for school starting!

  2. What a lovely book! I have to curtail myself when it comes to notebooks. I was at Walmart the other day and spotted a lovely one. I walked right by!
    Have a great weekend.

  3. Ha ha! I share your addiction to notebooks and pens! I love the office supply area of Walmart. So many people are now posting YouTube video tours of their daily planners. Isn't it funny how these things give us such a thrill? I love the Faeries book! The illustrations are intriguing. Fall is in the air. I'm looking forward to it, partly because it will mean fewer tourists! ;)

  5. I have never thought of collecting notebooks. You have a pretty collection, that's for sure! You're right about the pictures in the Faeries book...aren't they beautiful!

  6. I never meant to collect so many. I just keep seeing lovely ones and if they don't cost much, I buy them.

  7. I Granny Marigold, I have never had much interest in fairies. I like notebooks too but don't have a lot of them. Never thought much about different pens but that would make it more interesting! I have a spiral blank book now that I have had for years and have been cutting out pages from magazines that I like. Some day I will get around to gluing them in and leave room for writing something on each page! Someday!!!! Nancy

    1. What you're planning on doing sounds very much like making a Commonplace Book. When I heard about such I looked it up ( good old google) and found that I'd been making exactly that without knowing it had a name.
