This and That

A couple of pictures taken on our walk this morning.

I like the bark on the Cottonwood tree ( at least I think that's the  kind it is).
I wonder if the birdhouse is for an Owl or maybe a Wood Duck.
Maybe the opening is not big enough for either.

Yesterday I chose a Royal Albert snack set for my tea. The pattern is Inspiration.
I had just  baked my DH's favourite Oatmeal/raisin cookies and I had to try one.

I think this will be a Royal Albert week. Today's choice is Brigadoon.

. We're having a stretch of cold mornings followed by  lovely sunshine-filled afternoons.
I must go and sit and enjoy it while it lasts.

Thanks for stopping in.

  5. The hardwood trees are so pretty in the fall. I haven't been out to take pictures. The trees are at the optimum beauty now. I love the tea cup with the snack tray. I have never seen one like that before. What a treasure! Thank you for sharing and I do hope that your eye is improving with each day.

  6. This is surely the time to enjoy sunny afternoons before winter hits! I love that delicate snack set - how perfect for a cookie. Now I feel a need to bake cookies, haha :) I do think that bird house is much too big for a blue bird.

  7. Leaves are looking pretty up your way.
I have a Royal Albert tea cup and saucer called Memory Lane. I had the whole set of dishes but gave them to my daughter and just kept the one cup and saucer.

  8. Beautiful blue and white tea cups. That birdhouse looks like a bluebird house, they are shaped that way.
Replying to the comment you left on my blog: Layer cakes are really nice. If you want a simple quilt like this one, you can use them as they come and the fabrics are always very complementary. I quilted on my regular sewing machine (I do not have one of those fancy quilting machines) but yes, three day! It's my fastest quilt ever :)
    Wishing you a lovely day.

  10. The colored leaves are beautiful. We don't have any fall colors yet, just lots of dead brown leaves on the ground. Hopefully the cooler weather coming this week will help. You bake the best looking cookies!! I would have tried two of them. :)

  11. Isn't our weather just beautiful! I know that wood duck nest boxes are very similar to that one you showed, but the one's I've seen have been over water. The snack set is a great idea, you certainly have some lovely tea cups. When I have a cup of tea, it's not often that I am sitting in one spot, so for me a nice mug is much handier, and it tends to get left in odd spots somewhere in the house!
