Saturday Morning

After days of rain we have a mostly clear sky today. We walked early, the ducks were still asleep.

At one spot on our walk we pass under a huge old Catalpa tree which is blooming now and fills the air with wonderfully sweet scent.

The Hydrangeas have not succeeded in raising their heads but I keep hoping they will.

And what would Saturday be without a bit of baking.  I had lots of carrots so carrot muffins is what we made.   ( DH does his part which is grating the carrots.)

I hope your day is a good one.

Thanks for coming by,

  1. Oh, those muffins look so good.
Today is our national celebration day, in moderation, of course. I wish there was more to celebrate.

  2. Happy 4th of July my friend. Those muffins look yummy. I made macaroni salad to have with hamburgers on the grill tonight and there will be fireworks across the lake to watch. Last nigh there were too but tonight will be even more. SInce we've had a lot of rain this year there isn't as much of a chance of fire and that's a huge relief.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  3. We had a Catalpa tree in France but I'm sure the flowers were a sort of purply colour.
Your muffins look delicious. I havent made carrot ones but I do make a carrot cake now and then.

  4. Happy sunshine! So the day can start with light and best feeling for the coming day. Thank you sunshine! Don't let us alone! Though the rain is very important, we love the sunshine a little bit more - excuse us, rainy day - - -

    Pretty muffins you bake.

The flowers - we call them here "Hortensien", I like them very much - will get up again, I hope.

    1. Diane, if you like carrot cake you'd like carrot muffins too. They're good plain but put some cream cheese icing on top and YUM.

  10. Yes, the muffins look delectable! I never thought about where ducks sleep, lol. They've chosen a good spot where they can make a quick escape if needed. Stay cool!

  14. Carrot muffins sound delicious, and I would love to enjoy the scent of the catalpa tree. I have 2 hydrangeas in my garden, they are a favorite plant of mine.

  15. Oh, those look yummy. I'll take a couple. The grating is the worst part, so it's wonderful to have him help!
