This and That

Happy Saturday!!  The sun is shining and I've been outside puttering and watering my thirsty plants

The local police FB page had another of their amusing items. I thought it worthy of being reposted.

Here's a photo my DIL took of the little Hummingbird that makes endless trips to the Montbretia every day.

And here the lake is being cleared of some of the waterlilies that clog the surface.

They dumped their load on the beach before heading out for more.

And this little girl was thrilled with the fish she caught. ( I asked her dad if he minded if I took a picture,  and he didn't).
The lake is stocked with little trout every year. I have no idea if that's what she caught.

That's a lot of trivia but since I made up my mind to do a post every second day in July sometimes it ends up being a bit of this and a bit of that.

Thanks for coming by and reading my drivel.

  5. That is a wonderful photo of the hummer. They don't sit still for long. They are coming to our fuchsia baskets, and they do love our crocosmia, which you mall Montbretia.
the police page photo is funny.

  6. I love your blog! It's certainly not drivel. I love the police photo. How true is that?! Ha! And the hummingbird is perfect. She caught a fantastic pose. I'll bet your little granddaughter was thrilled with her fish. It alsmost looks like the bluegill or sunfish I used to catch in the Platte River in Nebraska when I was a little girl.

  17. How lucky to have hummingbirds visit your lovely yard! Stunning photo! Here I have been wondering how it is that my hummingbird feeder is always empty yet I have yet to spot one this year....THEN I noticed our 3 year old grandson tilting it sideways to watch the nectar run out and that solved the mystery!

  18. I also love the hummingbird picture. Are your little fellows ruby-throated hummers like we have? I also especially like the picture of the little girl with her prized catch of the day. Isn't she just precious!
