A Cupboard and a Groundcover

A month or so ago I was given this cupboard which I thought I'd use in my potting area. Eldest daughter gave it a couple of coats of paint and  DH and youngest son put it into place.

Here it is before I put some gardening things on the shelves. I liked it but found that it was so hidden away that I wanted it closer to the house.

My longsuffering menfolk moved it to the area just by the back door and I like it much better there.

I have some dishes that will look great on those shelves. They're just the right colour.

I have this groundcover that is quite pretty but invasive. I've always called it Meadowsweet but I would like to know for sure what it's called. I wonder if anyone can identify it for me.

Youngest son did come today and cleared quite an area giving me some much needed room to plant some new perennials. I'm excited to go choose some this weekend.

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my Clematis. I think the wind and rain we had 2 nights ago have caused many petals to fall. I took pictures just in time.

Thanks for coming by,  GM

    In Nederland: Canadese Anemoom
    in Engels: Meadow anemone

  5. Good Morning! I am in love with your new to you cupboard. It looks perfect in it's place and the color is wonderful. A perfect spot to display your dishware. I wish I had the vision to see old, beat up furniture and then make it look like this wonderful piece.
I'm sorry, I don't know wht the ground cover is called. I'm battling clover. It seems to be everywhere. I pull it and it comes right back.
I hope your Thursday is a wonderful one.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  10. That ground cover is Sweet Woodruff. It is invasive, but is a good groundcover in areas where you want low maintenance. Otherwise just use a garden fork and lift it out. It spreads by underground runners but they are just under the surface.

    1. Thank you for identifying it. I figured if anyone would know what it was you would.

    2. Oh! I used to have a little Sweet Woodruff, in my old landscaping. I got some to grow at church, too, in a shady spot. But it would never "take over" here. I had completely forgotten about it.

  11. I thought the cupboard had good lines when I saw it in your older post, and the color just elevated it into something of such beauty. I do not know what that groundcover is, so pretty. Does it smell good?

    1. I don't think it has any smell but truthfully, if I got down there to smell it I wouldn't be able to get back up again. *grin*

  14. Oh this is really pretty, before and after. I long for an area like you have, and you have it so beautifully decorated. I don't know the plant, and I totally get that you wouldn't be able to get back up. I did that the other day here in the kitchen, I sat on the floor to get something out of the cupboard way back. I could not get up. I had to shimmy over to the stairs by the side door to get up. Oh Bother! :) Can't do that anymore!

  15. Granny Marigold, your cupboard is so pretty and you have such a perfect spot for it. Don't know how I keep missing so many of your posts. I've just read back to Mother's Day. I absolutely LOVE the pink rose. Such a beautiful post...your little shed with the clematis is so perfect. You sure have a wonderful husband and sons to always be helping you build and dig plants, etc. I saw bunny's cage in the back. :) Love, Henny
