Is there any bird more graceful than a swallow? I sat by the lake and watched them swoop past each other and I was amazed that they didn't bump into each other. It's cloudy today and I wonder if that brought more gnats and other flying insects out. Whatever it was it meant a feast for the birds.
The bushes around me were full of activity too as Chickadees and Bush tits searched for their breakfasts. I was thrilled when this little yellow bird flew past me and landed briefly on a tree. I believe it is a female Yellow Warbler. (picture from the internet)
I baked this Dill bread for the second time this weekend. The recipe came from Karen ( Happy One at Life is Good). She has a recipe blog as well called Karen's Kitchen and it's full of great recipes. Being the haphazard baker that I am I didn't get my loaves the same size but who cares as long as it tastes good. Actually the second time I made it I made it into 3 loaves which is a better size for us.
The washer and dryer have both finished their cycles now so I'm off to fold laundry. I hope your week is off to a good start. GM
Pretty bird, good looking bread. :-)
ReplyDeleteLaundry the washing & dryingi is okay...but folding & storing them is no fun for me.
ReplyDeleteOf course, loving to watch & photograph birds, I adore your warbler image. And that bread looks wondrous.
What a pretty little bird and the bread sure looks delicious! I hope you have a great week. :)
ReplyDeleteThe bread looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteDill bread sounds delicious! My loaves are rarely the same size, but really, what does it matter? The yellow warbler is a beautiful visitor to your garden.
ReplyDeleteDELICIOUS LOOKING BREAD, NEEDS A SMALL "SMATHERING" OF BUTTER AND HOT COFFEE. Pretty lilacs. I have not made bread in awhile, I suppose soon my husband will be requesting some, especially croissant....
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked the bread. It's one of our favorites now. I see you made round loaves.
ReplyDeleteSwallows really are a miracle! - I also wonder how they manage their artificial flight. The yellow little bird looks very sweet. I hope, that this bird is not too seldom -
ReplyDeleteGood baker of breads, they look delicious!! Funny they have differnt sizes :) I like this! And violet flowers on the table, these bushes also flourish here in the Bavarian Forest since one day.
Makes me want to bake some bread! I actually remembered to take my camera with me on my walk this morning so I'll have something for my blog. Yesterday I saw a large fish in the river that goes under my road. A family pulled over in their truck and got out to look for fish. Everyone is enjoying the outdoors! :) I've seen some rufus sided towhees, which are new to me.
ReplyDeleteThe dill bread looks delicious! I agree! Karen's recipes are yummy!
ReplyDeleteOoh I bet your dill bread tastes good! I'd like to try some....it certainly turned out looking scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteZit dat mooie vogeltje te wachten of er nog wat kruimels overblijven van dat lekker uitziende brood?
ReplyDeleteWasgoed weer netjes gewassen en gestreken in de kast geeft altijd een goed gevoel.
Lieve groet,
Ger
That little bird is so beautiful. I will have to check.out that bread.
ReplyDeleteSweet little birds. We've noticed a LOT more birdsong here in the mornings especially, but virtually all day. The birds would sing in the mornings in Washington but not like this. I feel as though we're living in a rain forest!
ReplyDeleteThe bread looks delicious. That's something that I've never been good at making...anything with yeast. I think I kill the yeast.
Have a lovely Tuesday.
Blessings,
Betsy
That bread does look good 😍 and I love the bird picture 🤩 it's so nice to enjoy a good baked bread!
ReplyDeleteThat bread looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteI need to find a reason to bake some bread pretty soon. I am nearly drooling over yours.
ReplyDeleteOh I love me some dill bread. I haven't made a fresh loaf of break in a long while. I need to have time to make some. I used to take a day making fresh breads to share with family and friends. Dill and rosemary my favs. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteO what a nice bread. So big.
ReplyDeleteToday I saw also a yellow bird. It was the western yellow wagtail but I was too slow. So I have no pic.
Your breads always look so wonderfully delicious!
ReplyDeleteThat's some beautiful bread! And the lilacs in the vase are so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteYesterday it did not work to leave comments.
ReplyDeleteI love the birds yellow colour, we don’t have them here.
We both loved the dill bread!
