Morning Walk and Some Ducks

Cloudy morning. The lake looked a little ominous but a few of the trees in the parking lot have turned a lovely colour.

Also in the parking lot were these ducks looking for a hand-out. Can you spot the oddball? We haven't noticed it before but it's definitely different from the rest.

I did a silly thing this morning. Middle son was drying some of his abundant crop of Habeneros in the air fryer. Being of the curious sort I went to see if they were dry yet. I poked one ( it was far from dry) and never thought any more about it.  Later, however, I rubbed my eye and felt such a burning sensation. Couldn't think what was wrong then the penny dropped. I hope I won't do that again!!
Incidentally, DH dried some sage leaves yesterday and that worked perfectly. No more bought sage for Thanksgiving stuffing.

  1. Great pictures! I love cloudy day shots. You are already getting lots of color there, but we will have to wait a little longer. Thanks for the air fryer tip for drying herbs.

  2. That is a beautiful, beautiful teacup. I love that teal color. So sorry to hear the eye story. We sure do some silly things without thinking don't we?

  3. Oh my, your cups just keep getting better and better. Dear...I can feel your pain. And, habanero peppers are one of the "hottest"!!
That duck is some kind of hybrid for sure.

  5. My eyes are watering just thinking about your misfortune. Yes, those peppers pack a powerful punch. Hope it feels better soon! Your latest teacup is stunning. I wish I could find one like that but then I would have a dilemma - keep it for myself or give it to my sister-in-law whose name is Marilyn!

  6. Such a beautiful post! I admire the clouds in the light secret sky, the great colour in the autumn-leaves and the adorable duck-group! Thank you!

Have some good fine tea, dear friend!

  7. OOh, how painful those peppers can be to sensitive eyes. It was a beautiful day for a walk and we saw some ducks, too, but not the odd waterfowl that you pictured. The sage plant in my garden stays throughout the winter. I love sage in turkey dressing. Next weekend!

  8. Instead of the ugly duckling, you have the odd duckling. It is quite pretty...as is that teacup. I feel your pain with the pepper and touching your eye.

  9. Awe...I know that burned bad!!! OUCH! Love that beautiful tea cup. How many do you have GM? All the ducks are cuties. We have a city park in town and sometimes I go there to just sit and pray and think....sooooo many ducks and sometimes they can be annoying if you are eating something as they hang around and want a bite or two! LOL! Happy week to you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  10. Oh no! The chile oils are very hard to get off of your skin. I love hot chiles but I can't do habaneros. They are just TOO hot! What gorgeous leaves already, gladdens the heart although it makes one wonder if it means a tougher winter! The teacup is such an unusual color! Beautiful. I wonder if that duck is just a mutation in coloring or if it is different sort of duck?

Hope your eye has recovered without any long term problems. My eyes watered just thinking about it :)
