October went by so fast and somehow November has arrived. We're enjoying a few days of welcome sunshine. The Dahlias in pots got cut down and put in the shed where they will hopefully be fine for the winter. Any potted plants that need to be protected from winter rains have been moved and I think we're ready.
Daughter Sheila went to the Pumpkin farm yesterday and took some great pictures. I don't think she'll mind if I share them. I think this is the first year in a long time that DH and didn't go. It's like the end of an era.
That's her, second oldest of our 5 kids. I'm so glad they all live locally and we get to see them often.
Teacup # 25
Thanks for coming by, GM
Pretty cup. That pumpkin farm looks like a perfect way to spend part of the day ...and such beautiful weather!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter took some great photos...you are blessed that they live locally. OUrs live a bit over and hour away, but that is not too terrible. One of them did live clear across the country, in Los Angeles California.
ReplyDeleteYou are very lucky to have your kids close by.

ReplyDelete"Like the end of an era..." :~) I have never visited a pumpkin patch but that doesn't keep me from loving pumpkins. I am all about anything pumpkin and love your daughter's great pictures from the pumpkin farm.
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin farm looks like a fun place to visit. Like you, all of our children now live locally, and we are so very thankful. The teacup is another pretty one. Happy November days.
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed to have your kids nearby! The pumpkin photos are so cheerful! That's such a pretty teacup, too. Have a great November!
ReplyDeleteI bought a huge pumpkin but I ran out of time and didn't carve it. I think I will make it into a pretty Thanksgiving lantern. That pumpkin patch looks fun and you are blessed indeed to have your ducks close by. Me, too!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a really long time since I was at a pumpkin patch... I don't think I have gone with my grandchildren, at least, I can't remember doing that. The last time I went to one it was after Halloween, because I wanted to get some free pumpkins just for cooking. My father had taught me to make this Pork and Pumpkin Stew from The Frugal Gourmet Cooks American and I wanted to get lots of pumpkin chunks into my freezer to have on hand for that. But those pumpkins that had been bred for Jack-o-Lanterns really did not have a good flavor, so that project was a flop!
ReplyDeleteThis year I got my pumpkins from Trader Joe's, and from two different friends. And none of them was made into a Jack-o-Lantern this time; they were either a bit small or oddly shaped for that, anyway.
I enjoyed these delightful captures of the pumpkin farm.
ReplyDeleteHow blessed to have your kids live close by, Granny Marigold.
It is wonderful that you have so much family SO close to you. That must make aging feel much less stressful. The pumpkin visit looked fun!
