Monday Chit Chat

I liked this cute picture of the little girl crying because it was Monday ( probably didn't want to go back to school. Spring break is over).  I actually I like Mondays in spite of the fact that it's laundry day and I have the usual battle with the washer. Again today it refused to give me any hot water. When we have to buy a new washer we will NOT be buying a Frigidaire  although I've been told that other brands also do crazy things. It's all computerized and therein lies the problem.

It's the second week of Spring and it seems warmer weather is here. This morning it was 10C (50F)

We walked in a light drizzle which has since stopped.   Robins were singing and we saw one with a beak full of nest-building material.

DIL got this shot of an Eagle stretching its wings. She has the patience to wait for good photos.
She also took the one of the Pied-billed Grebe.

Do you have any hints that make life simpler?  I found one this weekend when I was going to a grocery store where I'm not very familiar with store layout. I wanted to buy 2 items which were in their sale flyer so I cut the pictures out so I could show an employee just what I needed to find. Good thing I did because even she had a hard time finding them.  This worked so well I will do that in the future although many stores now have their flyers just on-line .
That's it for my chit chat. I hope your week is off to a good start.   GM

  1. Your teapot looks oriental? Pretty!!
I find the plastic produce bags a pain to open...my way of working them is to take one if the sani-wipes from the dispenser at the front...moisten my fingers with that and voila...open sesame. If there are no wipes, I use the sprayers in the produce. I appreciate your idea.

  3. That is a good hint! Buy items on sale that is my hint as prices keep going up. Nice to see a Robin send him this way!

  4. Love that Eagle picture. Oh that little girl probably did not won't to go back to school after a spring break. Neither do the teachers either I am sure. LOL! It has been a beautiful day here today but we have had us rain! I wanted to be outside but winded up baking zucchini bread and making lip balms. The retired life is killing me GM! LOL!!! Only tip I have right now is making a list of what is needed before going grocery shopping or else I will forget what I went for! Mercy! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. I haven't seen any robins here gathering nesting materials, but I'm sure they must be. I spoke to one gathering dried grass up at the island. I do love robin songs.

  6. I have learned that the fancier and more high end appliances are the harder and more expensive they are to fix. My husband is very handy but not with the high tech stuff. When we go looking for appliances I ask the salesperson to show me the most basic model they have and that usually does everything I need. Loved your bird photos... spring can't be too far away if the robins are building nests.

  7. Good idea about taking the clipping along to the store.
    LOVE the Robin photo.
No spring weather here today. Cold, windy and snowing.

  9. Monday is for me cleaning-the house-day! ::) I always think on Monday: that is laundary-day for Granny Marigold! ::)

Hope your washing machine makes no longer such problems! Or a new one??

    I love the birds.

Have a good time in warmer weather!

  10. Ooh a tropical teapot.....how cool! I love palm trees anywhere any time!!! We have mounds of snow and ice from our storm of last week and of course, still the snow from way before that. We had one week of 40's and a 50 degree day and then back into the deep freeze. Hopefully things will be improving soon! (hope hope!) Take good care Granny!

  11. I love the idea of a Monday chit chat. I can imagine lots of things are happening in your garden on a 50 degree morning. Spring is trying to happen here, but it is having a hard time of it. We are in for more rain this week.

  12. I bought the simplest washer and dryer combo that I could last year when we moved. We were told that the ones that came with the house worked great. Nope. Even simple has a computer in it though. I hope yours decides to "straighten up and fly right," as my Mom used to say.
The eagle photo is fantastic. I miss the eagles I used to see at the lake back home. We do have robins around and have seen them for weeks now, even though it's pretty cold still. 23F last night and only the low 40'sF during the day today.
Simple life? Not here. I seem to always be busy with something or other. I think with Dennis retired as of today, life is only going to be busier. He doesn't like to sit much and he wants my company. I AM grateful that he still wants me around but it's going to be an adjustment for both of us.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  13. Hi G.M....Try 'Fischer & Pykel' - great brand for Washing Machines. It is a cold Autumn day here - lots of rain and cold here at night. Enjoy your Spring G.M. Regards. KEV.

  14. That is a beautiful teapot. Your DIL got a great shot of the eagle. If you have a cell phone, and a flyer is just on line, take a picture to show whoever is helping you look for the item. that is what I do with things I want to remember, or show my daughter...

  17. Our spring break ends this week- I don't know why school districts across the province can't coordinate! Oh dear about your washer. We just (as in they were delivered last week) purchased a new Frigidaire range and refrigerator. I hope they work for a long time! Lovely bird photos, especially the eagle.

  18. Great idea with the flyer. I often find things online that I want to buy in person and then photograph them on my phone so I can remember what it was I wanted!
    Enjoy your week :)
