We don't have many old houses in our town, at least not many in good condition. Except for Trethewey House which is in the park where we walk almost every day. Long time followers have seen this place here in my blog a number of times I'm sure. This picture was taken in summer, obviously. It's all snow covered now.
The last 2 or 3 years no Christmas house tours took place because of Covid but this year once again the house was opened and we walked over to see how they had decorated it for Christmas. Come along and take a peek.
The pictures above and below are of the master bedroom.
Another bedroom.
This is what the park looks like.
Thank you for all the anniversary wishes. And thank you for coming by today, G.M.
What fun to walk through a heritage house all decorated for Christmas. Our snow is completely gone, but it's still chilly.
ReplyDeleteStately old homes are fun to tour. Sure wouldn't want to trade for my modern conveniences though.
ReplyDeleteVery nice house!

Thank you so much for taking us on the tour with you. I adore old houses, especially when they are furnished in period furniture and decor. Sometimes I wish we could go back to that simpler time, but I know they had problems then too. The Christmas tree and tree skirt are beautiful and I love the wood everywhere. Our first home had paneling 3/4 up the wall just like this one and also a heavy wood swinging door to the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
What a pretty house! They need a festive centerpiece on the table! I enjoyed seeing inside!
ReplyDeleteThis is a most beautiful home, one which I would feel quite at home in. They don't make anything like this anymore do they? Because my blog title was somewhat hijacked and will link to something totally unrelated, I suggest you use the address on the browser and re add it to your listing. I don't know what goes on with blogger. If you come up annonymous you must sign in again. I've not posted in a few weeks, I honestly don't know where the time goes. The sweet potatoe casserole is very good.
ReplyDeleteThe name 'Trethewey' is such a Cornish name, and I wondered if the original owners had come from this county.
ReplyDeleteA lovely old home. Thanks for the tour.
ReplyDeleteNice decorated home!

ReplyDeleteI love older homes...they have so much character. Loved seeing the quilts.
