Yesterday's walk was so foggy that we saw very little of interest. The sun did eventually break through the fog and we had a lovely sunny day. Today was clear and sunny right from the start. We went farther afield and walked with our DIL and Grandson M in a wooded area with many trails all of which seemed to be up one ridge and down another. Although we only walked a little over 3 km it took us an hour and a half.
Lots of Skunk Cabbage
A tiny Trillium maybe?
Needless to say the two of us old folks came home quite ready to sit down and have a cup of coffee and a scone. What does your day hold?
Thanks for visiting
I wish we had Trilliums in the wild here. They are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteOur shunk cabbage is growing as well. Along with garlic mustard, which that one, I enjoy eating. And the wild onions and garlic. Here's a better walk for you next time. Cheers, Ivy.
ReplyDeleteWe went for a mile + walk this morning in the neighborhood, then worked outside in the garden morning and afternoon. Now just after 4:00 we are declaring it rest time. I'm tired.
ReplyDeleteA lovely walk and what better to come home and enjoy a coffee (or tea) with a scone.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your Sunday and have a happy new week.
All the best Jan
A lovely walk. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice views of your walk today. We are enjoying a visit from our daughter and son-in-law today. His first visit in over a year since he's been fighting Leukemia. Went to Mass, got blessed, and enjoyed a nice breakfast. A good day here!
ReplyDeleteWe had a beautifully sunny day yesterday and today, in the mid-80's too. Tomorrow is supposed to much the same until evening when clouds and rain are supposed to arrive and stay through Tuesday night. It always seems to change before it gets here though.
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely morning at church and stopped at a bar-be-que place for lunch. It was very good. The name? Porky Butts! Isn't that funny? We also have another BBQ places here called Swine Dining. Ha! It's pretty good too, but Porky Butts is only about 6 blocks from our condo.
We spent the afternoon doing Mom's laundry and then catching up on the news. Yikes!
I hope your Monday is a wonderful one!
Blessings,
Betsy
Not much yesterday I was tired of my Saturday cleaning so I had a rest. Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful walk...and I'm just doing laundry and planning lunch...lol
ReplyDeleteNothing exciting.
hugs
Donna
It was a lovely weekend to get out for a walk in the woodland. Today I'll be doing some sewing. I gardened yesterday when it was so warm and sunny.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a Trillium, even though the bloom is tiny.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great walk. I've seen some skunk cabbage around here as well.
ReplyDeleteWalking through such a "wild forest" is a good experience, but also a kind of hard work for the feet of forest-friends, who are elder than 60🌲🌲🌲
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stunning photos! You had a good rest earned!
There is nothing better than first have a nice walk in the woods, then relax with a cup of coffe and some to eat :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I miss my woods plants....I had not thought about them till I saw the trillium above! I had jack-in-the pulpit, mayapples, bluebells, and I miss them! When the girls were young they planted some of them. I at one time had ginseng, but a dog dug it up...you know how the dig in the dirt and then lay down where they have dug.....
