Changing the Look

Woke up full of energy and plans for my morning. After my walk I decided I was tired of the look of the dining room so ....  this is the way the sideboard looked before.

And this is how it looks now.

This is Mom's old treadle machine before.....

and this is after. I may add more to this yet because it is a bit TOO plain.

I forgot to take a 'before' pic of the kitchen window sill but this is the way it looks now. I took a plastic bag and my secateurs along on my walk and clipped some greens in the park. Juniper, maybe?

Even my bed looks different because I added an extra quilt. The nights are getting very chilly.

Now my energy is gone and I'm content to sit and read. I've always been a morning person and as I get older I find if I want to get anything done it better be in the first half of the day.  Are you a morning person?  Or a night Owl?

  2. Hi! I really love the clean look of the sideboard with all your pretty tea pots!! I am looking forward to taking my fall things down and putting up Christmas! We usually put up our tree a day or two after Thanksgiving. Nancy

  4. Love your changes. I have to change the mantel behind our woodstove from Halloween to Thanksgiving... I'd better hurry up! I'm more of a night owl... unless I get going in the morning first thing, but that doesn't happen too often!

  5. I used to be such a morning person, but now I seem to be more of a night owl. I'm trying to get back to being a morning person, but am having limited success.
Your decorations are now simpler with a lighter background. Just the thing for the many dark and dreary days of November. I had to run upstairs and check out our sideboard, it is very similar to yours!

  6. Ohhh I'm definitely a morning person. I'm up early even on my days off, usually around 5 a.m! Been thinking about changing a few things around my house too, but it's too early for Christmas décor just yet.! And the pumpkins and gourds are still appropriate for November. I'm ready to snuggle in for winter......
