Happy first day of May!
A new month seemed to call for some rearranging of tea sets on the sideboard.
This is what was on it for the past 2 months.
These are the dishes I took out to celebrate Spring.
I also changed what I had on Mom's old Singer sewing machine. I must admit snitching the Lilacs from the big old Lilac in the park. My Lilac bush is very old and very very tall. All the flowers are way up beyond even a man on a stepladder.
These Tulips came from my backyard ( in case you wondered).
And lastly I wanted to show the planter my DH made for our oldest daughter. He made it using free pallets that he pulled apart.
Now I plan on going outside and puttering in the garden. The sun hasn't come out from behind the clouds as yet but at least it's not raining.
Thanks for visiting,
Granny Marigold
Everything looks nice. I'll have to wait at least 2 weeks for lilacs. The planter is really neat! Phil
ReplyDeleteAll three patterns are so pretty. I like them all.
ReplyDeleteThe planter is very nice and I'm sure your daughter was pleased.
Happy May to you. Hope the sun came out for you! We had a beautiful sunny day here in western Maryland.
Pretty dishes! I love looking in the background to see all the displays you have on your walls. Do you dust all that stuff?!? LOL. I'm far too lazy to do that. That's why I love looking at your stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteAll of your new spring decor is lovely.
ReplyDeleteTom made our potting bench out of free pallet wood. It's a great resource.
You have everything looking so pretty. I love all your dishes, it's nice to be able to switch them for the different seasons. Your hubby did a great job on the planter, WoW!
ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely tea sets! Did you decorate the doll house yourself? That is something I have always wanted to do. I bet your daughter will love the planter. There is so much you can do with pallet wood.
ReplyDeleteHappy May Day! You can prune that Lilac back after it blooms and then it will still bloom next year:)
ReplyDeleteYour sideboard is lovely. I enjoy seeing how you change out the display items. Hope you enjoyed your time in the garden. X Chy
ReplyDeleteIt is always a joy to visit and enjoy your tea sets. The planter was a joy and indeed an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and it is lovely, so I shall be following you and I am looking forward to reading the archives.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Marlene.
I love having a change around, displaying different items. I love your teapot with the Hydrangea on it, so pretty. Is that a dollshouse I spy, it looks rather lovely xx
ReplyDeleteMay is looking very lovely at your house so far. Your tea set is a beautiful choice for springtime. Love the planter. How neat that your husband recycled the pallet wood.
ReplyDeleteYou have the most beautiful dishes and I love how pretty they look on the embroidered scarves. Your husband can build anything! Can't he. That is a nice planter!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so lovely. I envy you the lilacs...ours of course will be much later, perhaps in a month or so.

So much to love here, but I am quite drawn to the tulips! Your husband's resourcefulness and carpentry skills are lovable, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your new teacup arrangements!
ReplyDeleteI love your tea sets. I like that shape of tea cup/mug and wish I could find more of them. Your husband is sure handy. That is a lovely planter box! Nancy
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty china -- and I was surprised to see that very fun teapot with the tea set on its lid ... I have that very same pot!! Actually, it belongs to my 18 year old daughter who will probably never want it. I got her an entire tea set on a tray for her 3rd birthday, buying each unique item from a flea market, and that's the pot I chose for her. So fun! And tell your hubby that planting box is just great. Good use of wood!
